    Seat selection in new system?

Seat selection for DL flight numbers on VA metal seems to be available through DL.com I had requested seats through Velocity's call centre but it doesn't seem to have come across but the seats I selected are unavailable. As its on VA metal which seat selection will stick?

Points from connecting MEL-SYD flight flying VS

I had the same problem earlier this year when flying on a DL ticket to the States. Ticket was booked as DLxx_x from MEL > SYD (and vv) but both times was given a DJ ticket with no indication of the DL flight number. I am guessing that this then means that it never gets marked as flown in the...

    Slow points from virgin velocity

If it helps I booked mine (or my travel agent did) through the Delta website. My flight was: MEL > SYD > LAX > JFK > MIA > MEM > LAS > LAX > SYD > MEL All except for MEL > SYD and SYD > MEL was on Delta metal and all flights except for these credited (including family pooling) into my...

    Slow points from virgin velocity

Im also waiting for SCs and points from two VA operated flights as part of a Delta trip. Mel > Syd from 5 weeks ago hasnt credited but Syd > LA and LA > JFK on Delta metal on the same day credited about a week later. Reverse is also true, Las Vegas > LA > Syd on Delta credited a week later but...

    Overseas benefits

See that's what happens when you read too fast :) I agree, it probably wouldn't have had anything to do with VFF Status.

So on Delta you were basically treated as one of their Medallions including being placed on the Upgrade List? That is interesting news, especially about the luggage. I have 9 flights with them throughout Feb and March and have just ticked over to Silver so will be interested to see if we get...

Virgin Australia Unveils First Phase Of Inflight Entertainment Plans

I say under 10,000ft because that is generally the height at which the cabin can be unsecured on climb and the height they try to ensure the cabin is secured by on descent. I don't think its an issue with the technology but more the regulations surronding loose items in the cabin. It would be...

Virgin Australia Unveils First Phase Of Inflight Entertainment Plans

True, but most inflight magazines remain in the document holder in the back of the seat and have more give in them when they hit another object. A PED is made of glass and stronger materials, I know what I would rather be hit in the head by :) I am hoping that the next phase will involve some...

Virgin Australia Unveils First Phase Of Inflight Entertainment Plans

I don't think the technology is the issue for it not being gate to gate but the issue of having non secured items in the cabin and with having a tray table not secured. In a rejected take off situation that would be a lot of potential missiles in the cabin and potentially a lot of injuries...

Virgin Australia Unveils First Phase Of Inflight Entertainment Plans

I posted the same message on the Virgin Australia blog so apologies for the repeat, especially as some of my points have been raised already I think its a terrible idea for many reasons. 1) Availability - It's not gate to gate and I am assuming that you won't be able to use devices below...

Velocity Points and Status Credit on Partner Airline Codeshares

+1 Many thanks VA for clarifying this, much happier about choosing Delta over Virgin America now :)

Mystery Flights are back as a holiday!

Whats wrong with living in Broome? :) though being single and working at the Roey at the time probably made it a little more bearable... Shattered to hear the wet tshirt comp has been shut down :( Cant wait for Mystery flights to earn SCs, it really is a great concept. My fiancee and I...

Velocity Points and Status Credit on Partner Airline Codeshares

So if I was making a SYD > SFO or LAS booking through the V Australia website at what time would I be able to see that the LAX > SFO or LAS flights aren't operated by a partner airline? If I click on the flight number it indicates that it is a Delta flight, no mention of Skywest Airlines...

Velocity Points and Status Credit on Partner Airline Codeshares

Beat me to it 777. Our LAS - LAX flight is operated by Skywest Airlines and it looks like all the LAX > SFO flights are operated by the same company. I would hope that they would still qualify. I guess its similar to the Air NZ flights to Pacific Islands not being eligible for Status Credits...

    New status earn partner: Delta

Dare I ask what it was that you got told? If it was anything like I was first told it seems to be that they don't want our money. I didn't get a chance to speaking with my TA on the weekend and she doesn't work Mondays so I thought I would give Delta a call. The person I spoke to wasn't able...

VA now flying to Delta's Terminal 5 at LAX plus WIN Business Class flights

What about Paid Lounge Members and how does it relate to Delta's wording on SkyClub access for "Virgin Australia Club Members" at Delta Sky Club Locations

MCT at LAX T5 - is 100 minutes enough.

Re: VA now flying to Delta's Terminal 5 at LAX plus WIN Business Class flights I am trying to get us on DL6795 which is a VA operated flight from BNE to LAX. We are flying from MEL so it makes no difference whether we go to SYD or BNE, its a shame that the MEL - LAX flight isn't operating...

MCT at LAX T5 - is 100 minutes enough.

Re: VA now flying to Delta's Terminal 5 at LAX plus WIN Business Class flights Thanks Serfty Does that change at all if the incoming airline is DL as opposed to VA or because they are now both coming to T5 it treats them the same? We are currently on DL16

MCT at LAX T5 - is 100 minutes enough.

Re: VA now flying to Delta's Terminal 5 at LAX plus WIN Business Class flights Yeah, I am not expecting that we will make it at this stage so am trying to get the SYD - LAX flight changed to the VA BNE - LAX flight with DL code that gets in 45mins earlier. If that doesn't work I am hoping...

MCT at LAX T5 - is 100 minutes enough.

Re: VA now flying to Delta's Terminal 5 at LAX plus WIN Business Class flights Yep, same PNR so I know we will be protected but the next direct flight isn't for another 3 hours and gets us into NY fairly late and the prospect of connecting through ATL or MSP doesn't sound too appealing. Thanks
