Checking my emails on NY day and found one from Kris Flyer giving me Gold membership. I was still about 6,000 points shy of reaching gold (which I would have earned by the end of today) so it seems someone in SIA decided to give me a present for NY. Anyone else get something similar?

Seems our flight booked HND-PEK (NH1255) has been changed from an ancient 767 to a shiny new 787. Anyone have any tips for seating in J on this flight for a couple travelling with a 9 month old.

It seems this deal removes Qantas as a viable option to Europe for those who have status with a OW partner other than QF and want to make use of that status. Couple that with my dislike of DXB airport at the best of times and this arrangement is a backward step in my opinion.
