QF codeshare to Vanuatu from Melbourne

Hi all, Hopefully a quick question. I'm WP, my partner is SG and our 3 year old is PS. We're travelling to Vanuatu soon on the QF codeshare (QF355, but Air Vanuatu metal) direct from Melbourne. Do we check in at the F international check in, or would we need to go to the AV check in desk...

Qantas confusion! Please help a newbie

For such a long lay over, consider getting out of the airport into frankfurt for a few hours. The train system's very good and reliable. The FRA club is a BA lounge, and I believe that QC membership will also provide access to BA lounges.

    A reasonable compensation?

I would at least ask for some refund based on not getting a premiun economy service. Regarding days of work lost, that's what travel insurance is for.

Just how inadvisable is it to connect on different ticket numbers?

As they were separate tickets, did you "link" them together? I'm just curious how QF knew about the AA flight, as I've got a few flights coming up on separate tickets (thankfully the same airline), so this is more than just academic interest.

Just how inadvisable is it to connect on different ticket numbers?

Did QF rebook you or AA? If it was QF, how did you get them to rebook? Or did you book it through QF?

Just how inadvisable is it to connect on different ticket numbers?

Hmm... I know it's a bit late now, but I would have over nighted in HKG if (effectively) travelling all on award flights. Any of the BA flights could go unexpectedly wrong, and as far as I'm aware, award tickets are pretty unflexible. On your question of checking bags through, I've checked...

A Case of Beer in My Checked Baggage?

My only advice is to ensure that you declare it. I got away with excess alcohol (about 2 litres total, but this was before the rule change) because, as the guy said to me "I was honest", and as there were queues everywhere, he obviously had more important things to worry about than a returning...

Help with choosing Business or Premium Economy

the only thing to be aware of is that if you book a return from Singapore->Europe, then you have your trip across 2 itineraries. In theory, if your flight from Perth is delayed, then you may miss your connection to Europe, as these are technically 2 separate contracts. Also, you may be better...

The great hand luggage only challenge!!!

I've been on international long-haul trips up to 2 weeks (including to the US) with just carry on only, with no hassles. The only time I got hassled was leaving Israel where I'd been for just 4 days on a leisure trip, and they were a bit funny that I didn't have any hold luggage - how many...

Forced closing on window shades in J SIN-SYD day flight

Let's not forget, some of these flights aren't a "7 hour flight with a 2 hour time difference", they're a 24 hour flight split over 2 legs with a 12 hour time difference. Some passengers are travelling the whole way, whereas others are picking up on the 2nd leg.

Forced closing on window shades in J SIN-SYD day flight

This thread is getting a bit tiresome. It all comes down to being thoughtful to your fellow passengers, regardless of your cabin or the amount of money you've paid. And, as noted by someone previously, blinds need to be open during take-off/landing for safety reasons.

Forced closing on window shades in J SIN-SYD day flight

While I agree that it's good habit to adjust to the new timezone as soon as possible, the problem with such flights is that they originate in London (or Australia for the return), so you get a mix of people who have been on the flight since London (and probably didn't get much sleep, even in J)...

20 minutes to get off a CityFlyer? - urgent

I don't like your changes - I'd have a plan B. There's a Vline train to Geelong at midnight, and the sky bus takes you to the station (Southern Cross) from the airport.

    Qantas club membership

Be aware that at LHR terminal 5, there are no Priority Louge Pass lounges I believe. Note, some BA flights leave from T3 (Vienna? Barcelona?) though

What is Expert Flyer and is it worth it?

I had a look at Expert Flyer, and didn't think it was worth paying for. If you had membership of lots of schemes, it might come handy, but I've only got QF and BA, so I find it's just as easy (actually, easier) to jump on their sites and do searches for award flights.

Brindabella Airlines: SCs or just FF point?

    Opps... my confusion.

Brindabella Airlines: SCs or just FF point?

I thought it was a QF flight number though?

Brindabella Airlines: SCs or just FF point?

When I was travelling on federal govt fares a few years ago, we didn't get any points, but still got the status credits. Whether this applies to that particular flight would depend if its booking code is on the qantas table (ie YKLM). I can't remember what my booking code was.
