Upgrade Request for SYD-LAX - Question

Cool, thanks. I called Amex Travel and had my flight switched to the earlier one. He confirmed that it was wide open in J, so I reckon I have a better shot at an upgrade. Cost me $180 to switch, but worth it if it means I can upgrade for that long of a flight.

Upgrade Request for SYD-LAX - Question

Hi all. I am QFF Gold and am flying SYD-IAD via LAX. Currently I'm on QF107 for the SYD-LAX leg on a Sunday departure (continuing on AA to IAD), booked in K class economy. I a have already requested to be upgraded to J for that leg. Right now, on SeatCounter.com, I see the following: A1 B9...

    Airline Security (another myth)

That article is fascinating. Thanks for posting. It's ridiculous the amount of "cosmetics" that goes on to make everyone feel safe - but very little done to actually make us safe. Common sense usually prevails, but...

What must one do for an exit row?

How does one pre-request? I always was baffled that QF doesn't let you do them online. I'm from the US and at least AA you can select it on the online seat selection thing (which is the greatest and a big plus for AA) ... they verify you when you get to the airport to ensure you're eligible

    Honolulu Visit - Ideas

I blew through C&I at HNL, but then again I'm a US citizen, so our line is usually quicker. If you decide to head the opposite way from Pearl Harbor and toward Waikiki, then try Ono Hawaiian Food on 726 Kapahulu Ave. cash only and it's a great place for some authentic food. no reservations...

Weekend to spend somewhere in the middle(ish) of USA...where?

I would put in a vote for Chicago. It's a wonderful city and I go there whenever I can. Beautiful architecture, awesome restaurants/bars, lovely parks. A very cool city with cool people.

Qantas Club Access when not flying

As far as I know, in the domestic terminal you can go in anytime you want. Since they don't screen for boarding passes at security, you can just waltz in, then just show your membership card at the Club desk. I've never been asked to hand over my boarding pass in the Club on the domestic side...

What airplane are you waiting to fly the A380 or 787 Dreamliner?

I thought I was going to get to fly the A380 - I'm moving back to the US from Sydney - but the times just don't work out. I have to fly on a Sunday, and 380 only goes ex-SYD on Fridays for now...

    SYD Traffic for Taxi

I agree, the Redfern way is probably best, but of course it depends on when and what day. Sunday afternoon should be fine regardless. Monday morning you'll hit some traffic.
