Qantas swaps Upcoming Flight A330 for A321XLR

Yep, this was a Singapore trip in ... I'm going to say 2017. Recliner J, which I walked past on my way up the back. I remember thinking "ew, people are paying for this?!". @Quickstatus just poasted that they started putting Proper J into those 'planes a decade ago. The trip back was an A333...

Qantas swaps Upcoming Flight A330 for A321XLR

Logically this makes the A320 2240m long ... they don't look over 2km long! As an aside ... QF must have upgraded their A332's, it's been a while but last time I walked past J on an A332 it was all Recliner J. I kinda/sorta assumed they were just hanging on with the ancient interiors (nearly...

Baggage Allowance on Qantas when Checking in with non-Oneworld carrier

While I can’t answer the question, one clarification that might be useful to those who can … when you say “single ticket” does that mean the HK Airlines leg has a QF flight-number on the ticket you have? I kinda suspect that if neither HK Airlines nor Qantas have been able to answer the...

Have you ever had a hotel charge you for something you did not get or sign for?

Yeah, our very nice dinner had been charged to someone else’s room a few years ago … definitely an honest mistake, if they were dishinestly charging stuff in the hope their victims didn’t notice then we wouldn’t have had the meal missing from our bill. :)

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Is that a photo of it? If so …. how much did they pay, it looks a bit bait-‘n’-switchy …

    2026 travel plans

We were there not long after … the Green Dragon looked finished, you could get a beer as part of the walking tour, but it wasn’t open except as part of the tour. The whole thing felt really “some local farmers saw an opportunity to run something tourists might be interested in” at the time...

In that case ... who has experience of traveling to a Shengen zone country using an Aussie e-Passport for the first time, and is the hassle of that first-time-use biometrics (fingerprints/photo/whatever) collection greater than just standing in the non-e-Passport queue?

That I can find! PA. Which differs from mine, which is RA. I've Eurostar'd a few times & the queues have always been super short so I suspect it matters little for this trip. :)

    Worse than feet on bulkheads

I really don't like to feel too out of place ... I don't like to feel a million eyes glaring at me. :) Note that it's all about my perception of whether I'm not dressed appropriately, when I've thought I wasn't standing-out I paid absolutely zero attention to what anyone else was wearing &...

There's probably a thread about it somewhere ... but anyone know when the e-Gate compatible passports came in & whether they're all the same? I renewed mine about 2 years ago, and the page that holds my photo/info is relatively inflexible plastic. My wife's one is quite a few years old, she...

    Non Alcoholic Drinks Offerings

Yeah the treadmill is in Y … they wouldn’t crack the whip on J & above passengers to keep those turbines spinning! The relative scarcity of non-boozy beverages is, when you think about it, slightly odd. When you consider the percentages of beverages over the entire world that’re non-alcoholic...

    Non Alcoholic Drinks Offerings

It’d be an interesting shift in product presentation, boozle is expensive so they’ve been selling themselves as “premium” by serving something which is known to be expensive. Plenty of airlines serve something with priority of “expensive” over “good” (waves at EK) for this reason. So … how to...

Have you ever had a hotel charge you for something you did not get or sign for?

We had a very nice degustation dinner at a small boutique hotel … we got the bill on checkout and it was missing the dinner! When we asked, they’d apparently charged it to the wrong room, and that other room had already checked-out & there’d been an unpleasant argument about being charged for...

    2026 travel plans

@kookaburra75 … I’m not sure whether EK is one of those airlines that guards F fiercely, but a few years back we got a great deal on EK F fares to/from UnZud, and the F cabin was pretty empty despite our tickets costing the same as a full-fare Y seat. If I were in your position, as long as you...

How can AFF contribute towards relaxation of bilateral agreements between Australia and other countries?

The Hong Kong thing is interesting … what are the limitations there? Never having even thought about it, the fact Cathay has 5 daily flights just to Sydney (well they did on the July days I was looking at) made me just assume every airline is running bulk flights through there … but for the...

    2026 travel plans

I don’t know about “as a place to live”, but certainly “as a place you visit” it seems London made some big strides forward after the 80’s. I think the change in the overall look of the place, which was still like 1888 in 1988 and yet is modern now, is a reflection of (or was reflected in?)...
