Guaranteed Booking as Accor Platinum - Told by Hotel they Cannot Honour

I wonder why they don't just put the price up to $1,999 per night once they are fully booked. That's what other hotels seem to do.

    Jetstar adds Melbourne - Colombo

I think CMB should be grouped with DEL and BLR therefore 50 status credits. However given the Jetstar website clearly says 25 status credits then you have no grounds to argue if in fact the system gives you 25 status credits.

Why do you only get 25 status credits?

AirAsia X Launches Kuala Lumpur-Bahrain-London (Gatwick)

Wow, seeing Chinese airlines being promoted on AFF is certainly a surprise. I don't expect the AFF crowd to be the target market for this service. It should be a good option to/from Asia, especially for those nationalities without visa free access to China and Chinese airlines.

Suite Night Upgrades (SNU) - Cost Effective Ways to Redeem

With dynamic pricing in place, I think the best way is to just see what is on offer at the time of your search.

    Jetstar reviewing Cabin Bag policy

They catch people with overweight bags and make them pay so I'm assuming their jobs add to profits.

Article: How to Write an Effective Airline Complaint

I'm not familiar with reports of what Krisflyer normally offers as compensation but if he didn't ask for 5,000 then couldn't Krisflyer have easily just offered 1,000 on a take it or leave it basis, or worse, just an apology?

Jetstar no longer selling Max bundle in Economy

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

What a shame. SYD-MEL J at $299 would have been a good status run.

    Hotel breakfast likes & dislikes

The best hotel breakfast is a lavish buffet with a massive selection of food and drink from every cuisine imaginable. Just sit down and feast. Try a little bit of everything with the option to come back for more of what you liked. No need to look through a menu to decide what single menu item...

You'll get status credits per sector. Note that the cash surcharges are higher the more sectors you have.

Is it Worth Attaining Qantas Silver to Book Emirates First?

If your main objective is to continue to use your millions of points for EK F then yes you should pursue Silver. Considering the millions of points and thousands of dollars in surcharges you'll be spending for EK F then earning 300 status credits is not really a big deal.

    ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

You can contact a blogger, get them to reach out to their Accor contacts and maybe they'll do something for you. Otherwise most people will just find another hotel to use their Stay Plus at. Despite information on their website suggesting Stay Plus has no restrictions, this is not the case in...

Virgin Bali expansion, next up CBR-DPS

It could work. Outbound schedule is more leisure friendly than Batik's. If the Canberran wants to fly home on a day without a direct flight, VA can offer flights connecting in other cities. Not to mention Velocity earn & burn.

Qantas refund woes (gift voucher used)

I have the same problem as the OP but worse. I booked a flight using a $50 voucher. I subsequently cancelled the flight in Nov for a refund. I got an email saying the full amount will be refunded to my credit card. Fast forward to January and nothing. After two phone calls I can't get any of my...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

OP said they might book a weekend trip to NZ in J during the next DSC. I took this as a status run. I didn't think that the 75% bonus points, classic reward access and extra baggage was a good return on investment on the cost of the status run, but I get now that your comment was in relation...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Are these worth the cost of status runs? I'm pretty sure that buying Qantas Club membership or passes only when needed, until death, is cheaper than intentionally spending more to attain LTG. the Qantas Club route just doesn't come with that title of LTG which I know holds a lot of intangible...
