Given it would be a winter service, I wonder if things like the usual seasonal A380 to HKG, may help free up an A330 for a seasonal Sapporo service.

QF533 BNE - SYD 21APR24 Sunday early afternoon departure. Options of Mediterranean Pizza, Cauliflower Soup or a Ploughman's Plate. After having a few hot dishes in the lounge, I decided to go with Ploughman's plate and found it to be excellent. Would choose it again.

If it isn't available online, you will need to call Qantas to book to use points. You can ask them to waive the fee since you can't do it online. Can't use QF points to upgrade on an EK flight as far as I know.

27 Feb 24 - QF292 Sin to Syd (Finnair for Qantas). Selected Chicken for main with a Cheese finish. All pretty tasty. Surprised I was hungry after time spent grazing in the Qantas and Qatar lounges.

QF127 SYD to HKG - Friday 23 Feb Went the Chicken and Polenta. All decent enough, without being amazing.

There is also the Cathay lounge.... Which may be more appealing once it is refurbished (and if it is open when QF flights depart)

I'm all for great customer service, but US based airlines are far from the beacon of amazing customer service in my opinion.

I'm in the same boat. I mean, I still would have booked the PER - LHR segment regardless... Just would have liked some choice on the bird I fly west. What's the likelihood of QF putting you on a different plane or rerouting on QF1? I primarily want to depart via an International Terminal.

I'm confused why you think they would do this? Say you fly a 787 with 50% of passengers getting off at HNL and 50% continuing to JFK... you'd be flying a half empty plane to JFK all the time. At least at LAX they were utilising a plane that would be sitting on the ground all day. Additionally...

Perhaps they will come back! As it could be a short term glitch after Japan advised Chinese Airlines, including Hong Kong based, they could only fly to Tokyo, Nagoya or Osaka. I understand they have since back-flipped on Hong Kong based airlines... though they still have capacity restraints, so...
