Unicorn Classic Flight Reward

We were thinking of going to HK later this year, when Mrs Texter causally suggested using our points. I wasn't hopeful but a quick search yielded 4 return tickets on CX J!
I slept on it and re did the search and it was still there! Whilst establishing that there wasn't any other options it disappeared!

Just need some comforting that it was a glitch.. Or that someone out there has 4 tickets to their name....

I only search if I have a plan to book so I don’t stress myself out thinking about options.

When it comes to awards using QF points if you see it, book it. Then, if required, deal with the changes/cancellations/etc later as personally I'd prefer to have the seat to start with.

I've seen this sort of thing several times on the website. There one day, gone overnight. Even when there's several seats available.

I've encounted this recently too with CX no less. Planning on going to Japan in February 2024 and want to start in Sapporo. A few weeks ago I was browsed random dates to see how much points I would need and saw ample business reward seats on PER to CTS via HKG on CX. Now when I search they have all disappeared, even economy. Multi-city isn't unlocking the HKG to CTS flight either. Annoying.

Perhaps they will come back! As it could be a short term glitch after Japan advised Chinese Airlines, including Hong Kong based, they could only fly to Tokyo, Nagoya or Osaka. I understand they have since back-flipped on Hong Kong based airlines... though they still have capacity restraints, so maybe CX is withholding reward seats accordingly.

You could get comfort that you dodged a bullet by reading all the threads about what happens to people who use QFF points to make bookings on partner airlines .....

Haha, took a walk to cool down before working out what you mean...

Thanks for all the responses, yes will just book anything that seems somewhat appropriate first.
