At times a JQ flight with a bundle can be better $ per SC and/or less cost than a QF flight.

My understanding QF3 SYD-JFK, if that is what on the e-ticket, counts as 1 segment and will earn as SYD-JFK. Not 2 segments AKL-AKL, AKL-JFK

Starting from where in AU? Class of travel? Is earning ff points/miles/avios a consideration? Or not important and cost a factor?
