    Worst (international) business class seats

    No, those are A350s.

Velocity Status Benefits on Partner Airlines

OK. Well in either case you won't get lounge access at DUB. Status will get you additional checked bag, priority check in, priority boarding etc. on UA. You'll get none of that on AC.

Velocity Status Benefits on Partner Airlines

All. UA is also the only partner that will give you 100% platinum bonus without needing a VA flight number. But how could you fly United from DUB to YYZ??? Do you mean going via EWR first?

    Worst (international) business class seats

Well SQ calls this "regional"...to everyone else its a long haul business class product. It looks like it would work better for me....I don't need a 28" wide seat....that width is what causes the other issues with SQ's long haul designs.

    Worst (international) business class seats

I can't claim they're the worst...but versus expectations, I absolutely hate the business class seats on SQ A380. I would take the older product on their 777 and long haul A350 before it any day. The main issue is just as a seat and a bed it is ridiculously hard and unyielding. I found it...

Try an online travel agent...they can happily do multicity on VA flight numbers.

New "Airline Fuel fee" on some Qatar redemptions via Velocity

Nope. The US carriers are typically very good about not having bogus surcharges on awards (BA's surcharges being a notable exception for AA). Here's what AA will charge for IST-DOH-BNE on QR. Yes, that's USD95!

New "Airline Fuel fee" on some Qatar redemptions via Velocity

Your last example looks like the VA (QR pretending to be VA flight)...not QR as the marketing carrier. The VA flights are not affected by this. It's not an IST specific problem. Spot the difference (I get what you're saying about the numbers not adding up though).

Paid seat selection refund on UA Reward seat cancellation?

You have a refundable ticket...so per their T&Cs, you should be eligible for a refund of the preferred seat fee. I doubt that moving to a free seat would trigger a refund. The question is whether the refund would be automated or you'd need to contact UA after the VA ticket is cancelled.

Velocity Status Benefits on Partner Airlines

18 months ago the rule would have been 1 guest only inclusive of children...so you were lucky then. The recent (ish) change was that for QR lounge access platinum now gets 1 adult + 1 child guest.

Where's all the UA J (Polaris) TPAC availability gone?

The real tell is that there is zero availability in the coming few days even though the Polaris cabins are very undersold...in the "olden days" there would've been loads of reward seats available.

Seat bookings on a VA-coded flight on Singapore Air?

Reward flights on partner airlines are never VA coded. Was this one not a rewards flight?

Seat bookings on a VA-coded flight on Singapore Air?

It is possible to coerce the VA website into doing stuff...although not sure if its a good idea or if it will address your seat selection issue.

To be honest I think Aus duty free prices often seem to be lower than elsewhere.

But this is exactly what United HASN'T been doing, since around August.

Has SQ Stopped all MEL/SYD Business Awards from Velocity

...is the key point...there is none MEL-SIN. That was also true for SYD-SIN when this thread first kicked off...so hopefully things are improving.

Airport security confiscated an empty water bottle

It is the most pointless check ever. You could wear a heavy coat and conceal whatever bottles of liquid you like in it...that won't be checked, only your bags. While it is required from Thailand...I remember boarding a Jetstar flight from HKT where most passengers simply walked past the table...

    Polaris Lounge Access Question

Your economy boarding pass for EWR-SFO should scan at the entry gate to the Polaris lounge and give you a green light...that's my experience.

Has SQ Stopped all MEL/SYD Business Awards from Velocity

If it wasn't for the PER-SIN thing that would definitely add up. MEL & SYD are the only ports that get SQ's non regional business class cabins (A350LR, 77W and A380). Having said that...I've actually just found some SYD-SIN business class on Velocity. MEL-SIN seems to have gone like...
