    What cheeses me off

I thought it'd be hard to have really blinding headlights like now decades ago when LEDs were not very common at all, unless you specifically had fog lamps or something installed. Yes, there was hi-beam, but hi-beam bulbs are pretty much matched by the common LED these days.

    What cheeses me off

People drive with hi-beam up. Illegal in most circumstances, but do they care? Ridiculous. LEDs are much more intense than old type bulbs. Combined with possibly different light orientations compared to older cars and yes, they can be rather blinding when driving head on. Many headlights now...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Been like that for a very long time. Even in restaurants on the ground, desserts in bowls or glasses are very simple to serve and present. Instantly portioned (cf. slicing a cake), carries well, e.g. won't dry out, and presentation is near impossible to stuff up. I guess if I had to choose...

    Qantas domestic economy meals

Seems very difficult to get a pizza in a box correct, unless you go light on the cheese (and then don't rock the boxes once they are hot). Cheese, pesto and a dough base normally is a great taste combination (maybe a salty one), but I wouldn't expect a good pizza (i.e. good crust).

    Qantas domestic economy meals

Tasty enough? For curiosity sake, a typical Four and Twenty meat pie is 175 g (according to sources). A party pie is approximately 50 g.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

That would be an interesting idea for a breakfast service (on QF, too). I don't know how many people in Australia would be into a typical European breakfast of cold cuts and warm pastries (croissants, danishes, bread), but with enough variety of pastries and if the typical pax chooses 2-4, some...

I remember when many of the dessert cakes on J trays were from Manna from Heaven. Looks like they managed to eke back in on a contract.

Very disappointed about Qantas FF program

I wonder theoretically how many more flights would Qantas need to operate for this kind of reality to exist today? I know the answer is, "way too many," but I'm still curious. Qantas is in no position whatsoever to operate that many flights, let alone half of them, but that means either we...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I have to admit after reading your comment, how is it different to the reverse herringbone (not called the "coffin seats") which most people agree is a baseline acceptable product, and is supposed to have a minimum OK window view? CX, of course, have plenty of these reverse herringbone seats as...

    Qatar flights with Velocity points

Might be a bit off topic here, but the part that annoys me about VA is that if you don't have enough points for a points-only redemption, you can't get this far. This is even if you intend to pay the maximum allowable in cash (i.e. reducing the points required to whatever you are able to...

Spice bar at Melbourne Qantas Domestic Business Lounge

I was guessing it may be part of the chicken broth that has mixed in with the chilli (e.g. the broth was ladelled on top), causing it to turn that colour. While there are a few variations of chicken rice, traditionally it is served as rice (sometimes plain, sometimes flavoured), white cut...
