I never had a problem - I think I may have received an invitation at check - in.

My emails from BP say nothing about the 5x points, it was an email from Qantas that did. And reading the T&Cs

OK, so they have removed the Suncorp branding on the re-issued cards. Just use the new card.

If it lets you. Not that I've looked for lounge access, but I've seen some where any base room you like, and others offering a supplement. Being platinum, I haven't checked out if lounge access is ever an option!

If you use it on anything other than a base room, you'll need to pay a supplement for the 'free' night. It just covers a base room

It was both. For some it was a secondary card. For others it was a standalone account, that operated much like an Amex charge card.
