    “new” QF B737-800s

Been a while since Boeing have used the d check terminology. It’s now called P48 and I don’t believe any of the QF birds have hit the requirement for their third P 48 let alone their fourth.

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

Flights with partners can take a week to credit as their systems are not live with QFF, they do a connect and data exchange usually on a weekly basis at set times.

Qantas Abandons Haneda Slots - Unused

I am waiting to see the outrage expressed via a letter to the editor in the SMH in coming weeks, it’s a scandal compared to the issues you normally read about ;)

    Ask The Pilot

I might be slightly biased since I used to write Notams but I don’t think they are a problem from an old ATC perspective and a pilot. They use standardised language and whilst not perfect, generally do a good job. Similar complaints have been leveled at the seafarers equivalent. I spent a bit of...

    Turkish c130 inflight break up

The wing box is intact on the video as it falls near the coughpit section, and I did read some speculation the No 3 engine prop was missing. Unlike the USMC incident however the tail section is not attached, so possibly it went first?

    Ask The Pilot

It’s humans, mistakes happen. Tick in the box mentality is quite prevalent in Asia in my experience across various professional roles and more so with some airlines. Malaysia and Air Asia have had serious incidents at both BNE and OOL, and let’s not forget Batik in CBR arriving before airspace...

    Ask The Pilot

Pilots are not necessarily 100% at fault here, considerable concern needs to be put on the flight dispatchers who provided a report that the airport had no significant applicable notams while in the case of MH the MAB briefing and OFB had inadequate space for the complete ATIS.

Overnight a Turkish C130E broke up in flight leaving Azerbaijan for Turkey, with wreckage located in Georgia. At least 20 persons on board. Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

The airport and the Qantas Group are continuing discussions on international and freight operations at WSI. While short haul narrow body options are the first to operate, the lack of a curfew will eventually be attractive, after all WSI CEO knows QF International very well
