Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

It does say 'within 8 weeks' though they usually arrive soon after the flight. Last two DSC promos I received every DSC the day after the flight. Several of the promos before covid the DSC dropped randomly between 1 and 3 days after the flight for me.

Heavy duty padlocks in cabin baggage

My wife had an occy strap in her hand luggage that was refused at security (in Melbourne). I once took a MTB hydraulic disc break through security - it was questioned but allowed, but that was 1999, seriously doubt it would be let through these days.

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Flew MEL-SYD on March 4, still no DSC, flying return leg tonight, will report back when they do drop...

Anyone heard that Qantas are replacing check-in with self check?

Or if you're carrying dangerous items.

    B737 USB power

I've tried to use the 737 J USB socket several times to charge my iPhone with zero success. I suspect they're rated to 5W but delivering a little less, and iPhones later than, realistically, the 3S are rather pernicketty about their supply current.

Would you still fly Qantas if it had no frequent flyer program?

Agree, great question. Easy answer: No, nup, negatory. My partner and I are able to collect enough QFF points for a couple trips a year for our family of 4 with a mix of international and domestic every year, often with legs in J. Combine with WP/PC+ and things like Flounge experiences even...

Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

No sign of my partner's SC rollover either. End date was 31 Jan, the PC+ 100 SC appeared the next day, but still no sign of the rollover 500 SC....

    Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Nup. Very annoying. I've got 2 leaves so far, though I should have 3 and I can't see which ones, unlike last year. And no sign of the quiz again...

    Qantas brand badly tarnished

No and yes. Not a storm in a teacup, I’ve flown 19 sectors this year and 17 were dysfunctional in some way. The two that weren’t was a status flight with no checked in baggage, so even those two come with a caveat. Unfortunately and, frankly disgustingly, Qantas does have a degree of Teflon...

20% bonus Qantas Points from credit cards [targeted, with personalised minimum points earn for 3 months]

Nup, my card has swept and no bonus points yet either, minimum requirement was definitely met.

    Qantas brand badly tarnished

This exactly - I don't believe the current situation is even about genuinely saving money but it looks to me like an on-paper P&L improvement exercise to make the execs look better - the reason I suspect this is examples like the unlawful* sacking of those 2000 baggage handlers and aircraft...

    Qantas brand badly tarnished

You know there are deep-rooted problems when the flight staff are openly frustrated with Qantas - flew MEL-SYD the other day, called to board on time, then waited at the gate half an hour, then boarded rapidly (for a wide-body), all usual circumstance these days, but the CSM then announced...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

100% agree. When I make LTG, I'll be semi-retired and able to afford overseas flights in the pointy end on any damn airline I please and it won't be Qantas if they continue with their mediocre and paltry rewarding of loyalty.

Point Club Plus - Sharing of Qantas Club membership under consideration

Excellent idea, suspect a high proportion of PCP members are SG or higher. Always felt a bit meh - “hey there SG/WP, good work for hitting PCP, here’s access to the QP, which you already had access to, aren’t we generous and rewarding”

Same thing just happened to me. Do you have any update?

    What is Qantas playing at?

I agree. I used to be a Joyce proponent as Qantas was a business basket case and he turned it around somewhat, but now the Qantas brand has been trashed. I understand the share price and credit rating are important so that an airline can get funding for future aircraft purchases among other...

20% bonus Qantas Points from credit cards [targeted, with personalised minimum points earn for 3 months]

3100 points for a 20% bump for me. I did churn a cc within the last 12 months, but that was a MasterCard, so suspect that 3100 is likely to be my Amex 12 month rolling average.

    What cheeses me off

This really cheeses me off too! I was approaching the carousel in Sydney couple years ago just in time to see a bloke pick up my luggage and head off. 30 seconds later and he and my bag would have been out of the terminal. He did have an identical bag but clearly didn't bother to check the name...

Was it the Qantas Club lounge or the business lounge? I'll be in the latter on Tuesday arvo so I'll do some 'research' for you.

Points Club Plus Status Credit Rollover: simpleton question

Same thing happened to me. I had a couple others, so didn't bother chasing up but I think you'd get faster results phoning - I emailed Q support for something else a week ago and still no reply. Having said that, I've found the Qantas hotel bookings ph number and staff more responsive and more...
