    I just renewed in Indonesia. $335 vs $349 in Australia. There is some difference due to exchange rate movements since the price unification but not enough to bother shopping around. If my card had a 3% FX fee then that $335 would have become $345.

    Tough one. Definitely a case of prevention being better than a cure. I can see the money being with either Qantas or ANZ, lost in their system somewhere. I believe the most common outcome is that the bank sends you a cheque for the refund when the card is closed but this may vary between banks...

    What if you looked at the situation in a different way? Citibank could have just closed everything down when they left Australia. Your free credit card would have ended right there and then. Think of the last couple of years as a bonus time extension.

    The Avis/Budget bus was for Avis/Budget customers only. Not sure about the others.

    Mine was with Avis/Budget. Frequent buses and their depot was only 5 mins down the road. I did see people with other companies waiting longer for their bus and getting frustrated.
