    “new” QF B737-800s

Sorry I should re clarify, these have been purchased from the lessor I recall. Thanks for the detail above.

    “new” QF B737-800s

Generally it should come onto the new lease with all engineering completed? That’s unless they have other modifications in mind.

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Interesting choice of departure port. I assume the flight will be loaded with those on the Canberra payroll.

    “new” QF B737-800s

How many CASA proving flights does it need 😂 200? 300?

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

I recall that was all cleaned up?

    Cancel Lite Fare for credit?

Only if they change the flight. I had a 10 min change and they let me refund it.

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

I’d say considering the issues in recent times it would be wise to extend the Finnair crews for as long as possible while they have the offer available, even above the dry leases.

Qantas Starts Installing Split Scimitar Winglets

I recall reading that it takes 18-24 months to reap the benefits, that is using them on longer missions. They are certainly everywhere in the US

    VA50: all toilets inoperable

If you are inbound over NT or QLD when these things happen there isn’t many places one can divert to.

    Virgin FY25 results

I think that might be the right approach initially. Gives them the opportunity to lean in to that market when it starts to pick up. They will be able to walk in and pick up a good share when it starts to become a bigger market, plus let the others test the market to work out what the market out...

    Virgin FY25 results

Nothing that really stands out in the analyst briefing, I only joined near the back half. -FY28 is first -10 -Any -10 slots can be converted to -8s if certification is delayed. Won’t lose delivery slot in queue for example -Not looking at converting any 8s to 10s. -Transformational cost gains...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I think early build 788s won’t go on too long. Remains to be seen but I doubt they will enter a second heavy check at the 20-25 year mark and will probably be used for parts.

    Virgin FY25 results

Today they release FY25 results to the market listed as ASX:VGN. Webcast will be at 1030, Presentation will be released to the ASX within the next hour. Numbers had been forecasted in the Prospectus, not sure if we will see any further announcements today in regards to anything else ie more...

Where's all the UA J (Polaris) TPAC availability gone?

I recall mid Aug to mid Sep is often a lighter period for outbound as the bulk of the summer traffic has departed. Back in the day we flew Virgin most years across, outbound mid August, and back early September. All outbound was never more than say 50%, one had only 100 people. Coming back all...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Hard to see where the Jetstar International profit pool lies in terms of fleet but I’d say the A321 is a big driver in he numbers. I would imagine a replacement for the 787-8 would be the -9 but perhaps in smaller numbers likely 9/10. Not sure they would exit long haul widebody just yet, who...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I’d say those Japan to Cairns runs are all but destined for this aircraft. Not sure if the increase in premium product on the 787 is suited to a route like CNS-Japan compared to others.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

If they could add these to the normal NEO fleet that would be great. Those headrest less recaro seats are not the greatest.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Why didn’t they just opt for the 321Neo instead of the XLR if they only intend to operate a bunch on domestic? Hardly needs the extra fuel tanks on those missions.

National Jet Systems are essentially a fully fledged domestic operator. Not a regional link operator like they make out.

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

From what I’ve been told it’s D checks and refit at the same time. The timeframe matches up. D check is essentially pulling the entire insides apart so I can see why they are doing it at the same time.
