I like SIN security being at the gate. The trick is to arrive at the gate approx 20 mins prior to departure (allowing for delays if on QF!). Queue is then short and straight through to board. I've connected in SIN hundreds of times.

I disagree. While some places can ve problematic (eg needing visa even for turn-around), most are fine in my experience. Over the years I've done international turn-arounds hundreds of times in dozens of countries, with limited issues.

The new direct bus service goes directly to sky city - no other stops. It also requires pre-booking although I assume at quiet times you could just book immediately after your flight lands and still get the next bus.

Also conside ex-nz. Cheaper fares, more SC, and seems no issue in showing ek flights to Europe. Depending on fare rules you may even be able to stopover in Aust (so can use to position for the next ex-nz ticket).

I've flown all airlines A380 except NH and HiFly. Most of these in F some in C. I've flown well over 200 A380 flights & 1 million flown miles (for me the third most flown a/c type by distance behind 747 and 777).

It will depend on when you select seats. Initially restricted options due to weight and balance, and more seats open up as flight gets fuller.

This was before P1 existed but some of us got a joyride in qf a380 prior to commercial launch. I was on the secret top tier at the time and got F.

Close. It was a joint AC/SK lounge. Used it many times.

Syd f lounge has 3 work desks by the entrance to bathrooms and showers. There are also 3(?) suites. At times both are difficult to get - strictly first come first served. Used to be able to book the suites in advance but not since covid.

During cyclone Gabrielle disruptions at AKL there were lengthy return to origin flights by EK, SQ & LA.

By returning to AKL just two flights disrupted. If they had diverted somewhere else it would have impacted multiple more flights over several days due to a/c and crew out of place. I expect pax would have been reaccommodated on subsequent direct flights as well as indirect via LAX, SFO, YVR...
