Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

What is the point of thinking about this? What happens if NAB introduces new fees or remove goodies in a year's time? The credit card market would be different in a year's time, there would be new products from all the banks. So what is the point of thinking about Bendigo now? What happens if...

There has been no announcement from NAB. Anything you read here are just pure speculations and nothing more.

You know how you spend and spend on the card, until you have like $1.87 left on the card, then you have to try to find a staff at Boost / Chatime / Donut King who knows how to do split payment? If you have a $100 card, you would only have this headache once, whereas you would have this headache...

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

Exactly what that govt web site says, which you pointed out. Yep. Seems like people have a lot of emotional attachment to Citi 😁 Although honestly, I currently have a NAB credit card on hand as part of the churn and burn exercise, and I thought Citi customer service was bad, but NAB is way worse.

Just to fact check this: "The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) regulates financial services and products. Consumer protections for financial products and services are covered under similar rules in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001."

This is when you are buying / selling with HSBC from within internet banking. The question is, what about using the card? Obviously, just like when we were using Citigold / Citiplus.

It is actually very murky. First look at page 10 of the "HSBC Transaction and Savings Accounts Terms" 28 Feb 2025: - if you are transacting in a foreign currency, which you have in your account, and there is sufficient balance of it (say you want to spend £85 and you have £90), then it will be...

ANZ agreed not to close any branch in QLD, keep allowing Suncorp Bank to grow and operate with headquarter in QLD for at least the next 3 years, so I consider Suncorp Bank an option for the next 3 years. Deal with whatever happens in 3+ years' time, it's just a transaction account, we will cross...

It was about 2 years ago, the relative of a relative of a relative (you get the drift), came to Australia to start their uni course, which was also their first time coming to Australia. I met them at the airport, took the train into the city, then transferred onto a bus to go to where she was...

I mean, you fly to Australia a lot, and check your mail at your parents', right? ;) And you also have a TFN too, right? If I were in your shoes, I would say I'm a resident 😏 I personally use Suncorp, they are also fee free of everything including forex, so here is another option. I use them...

On SQ, Citi is just after AmEx, and about on par with dragon bank, so I will be keeping my Citi credit card as long as it's no annual fee. SQ also has hard expiry, so it is really stupid to cancel Citi NAB MyCard just because of irrational and illogical fear. There is no change, so keep doing...

Good to know about VA promo like this. People should be taking actions because of numbers, which gives them a benefit, not emotions.

No such info. NAB had not said anything about changing anything to the current reward program. Have you seen some NAB documentation saying that this is the plan? This discussion is insane, and reminds me of Dr Karl explaining this sorts of thinking (and conspiracy theories) once (possibility...

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

1: Have you got information on this? Or are we doing another round of fake news Citi is stopping credit card applications from Sep 14? 2: Even if NAB were to change this later on, what does one gain by transferring early? So their respective frequent flyer program would expire their miles earlier?

NAB hasn't said that anything to do with reward programs would be changed.

The stores I usually try are places like Boost Juice, Chatime, and they are usually run by 2 people, sometimes even just one person, so there is no else to ask, I just hold onto my cards.

An old pensioner pretending to be cash poor, but reading AFF and turn left when boarding ...... I honestly do have problems with spending the last few dollars, because some check out people just don't know how to do split payment on the POS. I could go to a store one day, the staff would say...

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

Some frequent flyer programs have expiry dates, like SQ is a 3 year hard expiry. If you transfer now when there is no change, then you are just making your points expire earlier.
