You can now do that on Everyday Gifting.

Ok - thanks. I think the everyday gifting option will cover most of what I want. Prepaid Visa and Eftpos cards aren’t in the mix (other than the merchant limited ones), but still plenty of options there. Never really looked at it before!

For those that love the 3% discount offer through Everyday Gifting, it is back from today until 28 June 2026 (!). They have changed the offer though - it now applies to the "Woolworths & Big W" gift card only. This means cards that can be used at BWS, Dan Murphy's and EG Ampol (including Wish Gift Cards) are now out.

The offer until 28 June 2026 on the Woolworths & Big W gift card is 3% off plus 1 Woolworths Reward Point per dollar spent. It looks like points will credit on the amount spent (after the discount), but don't quote me on that - there's no specific references to it in the T&Cs.

This is a good promo with the Pub & Bar card:
- Pay using Edge card so that's $1 for 3 AmEx points
- $100 worth of gift card = 2000 Woolies points, which directly translates to $10 off at the check out (if you don't convert to QF), which translates to 10% off the gift card
- The physical card operates on the EFTPOS network, which bypasses credit card surcharges at a lot of restaurants.

Highly recommended. Use until you are left with the last few dollars on the card, then do split payment at chains, cafe, or just chuck it out. At $10 off a $100 card, you can afford to lose the last $2 in the card if it's too much a PITA for you, really.

No way! I've "trained" the staff at my local RSL so I can easily spend down to zero. (I don't care what they think; I'm old enough to look like a pensioner so they just nod, knowingly).

I honestly do have problems with spending the last few dollars, because some check out people just don't know how to do split payment on the POS. I could go to a store one day, the staff would say it's not possible, then go back a week later and someone else would know how to do it.

The stores I usually try are places like Boost Juice, Chatime, and they are usually run by 2 people, sometimes even just one person, so there is no else to ask, I just hold onto my cards.
