    Qantas Club budget cutbacks?

No, it was 45 minutes, that's why the staff member profusely apologized. There were separate J and F class check in counters operating. Thankfully for those pax they got through quickly.

    Qantas Club budget cutbacks?

I don't know whether this is a common occurrence as I try and fly as little as possible these days, but checking in at SYD last month (enroute to AKL) was rather interesting. It was late Saturday morning, and there was only one QF club check in attendant for the whole of Sydney airport...

QF pursers and the English language

It seems that it must be just a few isolated incidents. Oh well, hopefully it won't be repeated for safety's sake as we are an English speaking airline from an English speaking country. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Do you use sleep medication during or after travelling to assist jetlag?

No. I don't take any medicines for anything (excepting the occasional antibiotic for pneumonia etc) No coffee, coke, alcohol on board, caffeine free tea and relax.

QF pursers and the English language

Is it just me or is it a problem? My last few international flights with Qantas were superintended by a purser (OK, flight services manager) who was almost impossible to understand in English. One was of Russian/Baltic origin, the other was Asian. I have a pretty good ear for foreign...

QF crew in J cabin - how appropriate?

I'll second this. As a former TN employee, I see no problem with it. Mind you, whenever I travelled (almost always 1st class), it was always in a suit and tie.

    Is this normal?

It's very weird, but no worries, these things happen.

    Is this normal?

I can understand all this but I would have thought that the pax would be kept on the plane, not out in the southerly wind.

    Is this normal?

My daughter flew from Coffs Hbr to Sydney this afternoon. No problems, a little bumpy, she reported, but the forecast storms didn't seem to eventuate. The plane landed adjacent to T2, the passengers were offloaded but not allowed into the terminal. They then waited for 20 minutes in the (quite...

The QF Response to a pretty terrible flight attendant

Yes I agree with you on this, our fares are pretty fair (sorry about that chief!) ;) I think the point is though, why do we keep flying with QF when their customer service is usually poor? Because there's not much alternative.

The QF Response to a pretty terrible flight attendant

Yeah, I buy most of my stuff in the USA, especially clothes and DVDs. Amazon is amazing with a no questions asked return policy and no restocking fee. Try that from Wow or Hardly Normal! Quantity is everything in business. We just don't sell enough stuff in Oz to make it worthwhile for these...

The QF Response to a pretty terrible flight attendant

Yes, but only when convenient. Price dictates everything for me these days, and atm, QF fares are competitive on the CFS-SYD-AKL route. Unfortunately in Australia, we have little competition in anything, hence we pay through the nose. What would we give for a Walmart or an Amazon or an Adorama...

Woo hoo, first ever business class flight

I will add a tad to this thread. I flew home last week from BKK in cattle class. (I enquired about upgrading to J but it was going to be $2000 AUD, so I passed on that one!) Emirates in Y class is like all the rest, except that the seats are the worst I have ever experienced, anywhere. The...

The QF Response to a pretty terrible flight attendant

Interesting thread this. I recall vividly a flight LAX-SYD in March 2000. My wife and I boarded the plane, then waited 5 hours (yep, 5 hours straight) at the gate for a fuel problem to be rectified. We were served dinner straightaway, then the crew disappeared for 3-4 hours. We finally took...

Woo hoo, first ever business class flight

My J class flight has ended, sadly. Well, not sadly as in a bad flight, but sadly as in I'm back to cattle class for the forseeable future. Here's some thoughts on Emirates J class. Check in at Sydney airport was seamless although it seemed funny to be served by a contracted check in operator...

Woo hoo, first ever business class flight

No probs and thanks for the headsup. I like Thailand, well, not so much the country but the people. They are, in the main, wonderful. I don't know whether you're coming into Thailand or going out, but all the best anyhow.

Woo hoo, first ever business class flight

I am very appreciate of the well wishes here on the AFF forum. I will do my best to enjoy the flight, which shouldn't be too hard! Upon arriving into BKK, we have a 5-6 drive to the mission station, then a 10 hour drive to help some nationals in northern Thailand, then back to BKK next week...
