NAB Qantas Platinum card Insurance question

I have perused many threads on FFF concerning travel insurance et al. However, I have been reading through the NAB (Chubb) travel insurance PDS yesterday and it seems that although medical treatment liability is unlimited, they will only pay $100 per day if admitted to hospital, up to a...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

I just checked x-rates.com and it has the rate at 1.03!!! I'm confused. Any financially literate people out there who can enlighten me as to the discrepancies in the various websites and their published exchange rates?

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

I would trust xe.com before a third party widget. The widget is still on 1.02 which is obviously wrong.

I am going off an OSx widget on my Macbook pro. I just checked again and it reads 1.02 Hang on, I will check xe.com. It is indeed 1.04058 at this very moment. Apologies to all and sundry. I will delete the widget from my desktop immediately.

Just back from Europe; a few random thoughts

Last Tuesday I returned from a month in Europe, plus a few days in Thailand. Here's a few rambling airline thoughts, if anyone is interested. QF: We flew QF all the way (QF1/2). The service was pretty good. In fact, I can't complain as the fare was cheap; the connections were perfect. We flew...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Re: OZ v Greenback. AUD is down to 1.01 this morning. I think the word volatile is appropriate.

Heathrow question for this week's flights

I will be travelling with my wife. She may be little, but she has the Irish temperament in her. I shall let her loose on the dragons and see what happens!

Heathrow question for this week's flights

Thanks so much for the response. I am only QP bronze & economy seat. So even though it's a QF flt number, there's no common man access to the BA lounge? Is there any access to BA lounges for non platinum etc flyers ?

Heathrow question for this week's flights

A few quick questions: We are flying Sydney to Rome this Friday, SYD-LHR-FCO. The flights are all on the same QF booking. We have about 4 hours layover at LHR before we board the code shared flight (BA/QF) to Rome. I believe it involves a terminal change eg arriving T3 and departing T5. Do we...

    A spare day in Madrid

I've tried booking ticked through Renfe three times now. I give up. We'll just book at the station and see what happens regarding price, and enjoy the journey however it turns out! Thanks so much for the travel advice folks.!

    A spare day in Madrid

I tried again this morning but the system doesn't work. If it's too expensive to buy at the station, I might as well hire a car as there are 3 of us travelling together.

    A spare day in Madrid

Thanks so much, you are a wealth of information. I tried to book some fast train tickets on the Renfe site yesterday, but (and I was warned that the online booking system is hopeless) the whole thing crashed at the end. Thankfully it didn't charge my credit card. I may try again as the prices...

    A spare day in Madrid

This sounds great. I think we get into Chamartin station (from Valladolid) on the Monday morning. I assume there is a good rail system in Madrid, so we will seek out the places you have suggested. Many thanks.

    A spare day in Madrid

Not a silly question at all. We're in Rome for a week, then we fly into MAD and make a quick transit (via fast train) to Valladolid. We then return from same to Madrid on the Monday morning, but don't fly out to Dublin (sorry, Dunblin was a typo) until 8pm. I guess we'll have about 5-6 hours to...
