I've only been in old Suites - several times.
I would rate them much higher than any F - and that's OLD Suites.
For half the points they charge now, too. *Cynical sneer*
Well I just booked.
FRA-SIN-MEL. 5 hour layover in Singapore. Still "only" in first class, not suites. Less taxes than out of LHR. Not eligible for LH F lounge, only their Senator lounge.
Qantas points to me have far less value simply for the fact that available premium redemptions in Qantas are next to nil.
Qantas business class is also inferior to a lot of other business classes. That's not an insult, that's an objective statement.
I have noticed that it is not possible to get a F redemption via Dubai on QF on my list of approximate dates to any airport in the UK. Dublin in Ireland is okay. Is this intentional / a universal experience?
How long away is this? When I was in Shanghai in mid-September last year, it was 35 degrees with humidity. August would be considerably worse.
The eateries along the river bank at the Bund do have good food, at a premium, but nothing exorbitant by Western standards. The extremely tasteless...
Thank you for your work. This is a very useful reference document.
It would be good to also release an estimate of the worth, for airline miles manipulators, of each Amex MR point in Ascent/Ascent Plus, and Citi Prestige rewards, etc.
Just looking at the SQ inventory for 2026, for the time I hope to be traveling, the rarest of hens teeth has popped up: an F saver (not suites) redemption from LHR-SIN-MEL.
The SIN-MEL leg is on SQ217. There is an overnight (~ 13 hour) layover in SIN.
I have not flown SQ in F since 2013...
I know the points required is the same. But how different is the hard product (would you, for example, be willing to pay a 20% points premium on it had the airline asked for it).
In your view, in terms of points value, how much percent difference is there between the "fair value" of regular and game-changer EK F? (ie. do you think objectively there is 20% premium in fair value for game-changer?)
I am still trying to cobble together my redemption itinerary from Asia to...
An international business lounge in the second most airport of its network - and it has one measly protein entree which is so watered it is obviously made with the intent of cost cutting - NOT a good look.
Is there a significant chance (10% or more) of Emirates flights to Japan and Europe being disupted or canceled due to volatility in Middle East in spring or summer of next year?
Last time I was in the Marhaba lounge the food was just fine. They had a nice selection of dim sum from my part of the world. The last photo of food on offer from the QF lounge did not seem appetizing at all.
That looks mediocre at best. I feel Qantas is deliberately keeping it this way to let mere business class passengers know their lowly place in the hierarchy.
