Travel Agents that understand the SC game

Cruises can be pretty high commission, at the low end 10% and 15-20% at times. Hotels tend to be 10 though 8 is possible. Airfares can be often 0% for international origin and 1%. Plus they are way more hassle in the first place, and liable to change regularly and last minute with no recourse...

Best options for making cheap calls/text when overseas?

So here’s one that may be interesting for some- My office uses 3CX. I always buy a data only eSIM for roaming, and have my normal number receiving free 2FA sms etc. If I need to make a call anywhere I use my 3CX app and call via the office with data/voip.

Travel insurance for heart condition (SVT)

Maybe we need a database of this. And also the right pre existing condition acceptance helps avoid it entirely. My 80yo parents get nib because their diabetes is covered without the questions, saving the possibility of extra premium anyway!

Yea, definitely different actuarial calculations but the same backend for med assessment

Travel insurance for heart condition (SVT)

Most should be fine, svt is rarely an issue. Most have online medical screenings, and they are all pretty similar. I suspect there’s only one or 2 screening platforms around.

    AMEX rejection

Correlation isn’t causation. Nothing to say you would have been approved if you didn’t close them either.

Bali Flights Cancelled due to Lewotobi Volcano

SQ and safety culture don’t go in the same sentence. Offtopic but there’s a bit about it in the Ask the pilot thread, from years ago, now.

    The Japan Trusted Traveler Program

Got my TTP today. My tips and experience: Came off ANA T1 South. 8am Elevators to 4th floor and the post office is next to the Starbucks. Buy your shūnyū inshi / 収入印紙 (4000JPY worth). Take the elevator just behind you to the 2nd floor and the automated gate registration support office is right...

But they aren’t that quick, and they are pretty soft. My swipe failed but I didn’t realise until I’d passed the gates.

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Conrad Bali. 3 base rooms, recieved Conrad pool suite and 2 Conrad suites and lounge benefits. 5 nights stay. Always excellent to diamonds, lots of staff turnover in management level lately. Also seems like the lounge is not only for diamonds. Suites no longer reference lounge benefits. I do...

    Japan - Online arrival card

It is ultra peak period, but Japan (Haneda) is finally set to get electronic gates soon too. I actually prefer Narita. Most of my entries are 10-15 min, they do the finger printing while you’re in the queue if it’s busy to help speed things up, and you get more early morning arrivals that seem...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

If you wanted it, yes, you should have booked it. Rooms can be all occupied but even if not, gold is always behind diamond for an upgrade and usually “better view” or “high floor” can be considered a gold upgrade. It’s one reason that offers like shangri la luxury circle and Hyatt prive can be...
