Avoid 24J PE seat on QF A380 unless you really need the legroom

I recently scored a points upgrade from Y -> PE. Was given 24J. I should have changed it! In case anyone is considering this seat (and its partner 24B) The good thing about the seat is the huge leg room. But I didn't need that. The bad things about the seat are: - Absolutely zero personal...

Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

I flew QF1 SYD to LHR on 18 November. No text received but upgrade appeared online (MMB) about T-18. I was initially given the same seat all the way though but received a phone call at T-4 asking if I would be willing to move to another aisle seat to let a couple sit together (answer yes)...

Has anyone had old QF bookings re-appear in MMB ??

Yes - I had a ba classic award sit there for months and the date kept updating to the following month when the date had passed. I recently went in to manage the booking filled in some missing info (phone numbers) and it disappeared immediately

    The Wine Spill

I would chase it with a polite email. A colleague of mine once opened his y class meal to find a fly buzzing around under the foil - he was sent a $100 restaurant voucher. Earlier his year I was on a Qf flight Hong Kong to Sydney and my ife stopped working mid movie and couldn't be...

USA - NY to LA, Drive or Fly?

We've done a few amtrak trips mixed with driving so you could look for somewhere that has mustangs and train it to or from there - remember you can get off at any of the stations. From the train you also see things you cannot see from the road. On different trips we've done the North East...

Target purchased Flight Centre E-Gift Card

Earlier in the year Woollies had 20% off flight centre gift cards. Using the egift card 5% to buy them was a very good deal! I took about 20 cards in to pay for a cruise with cruisabout (flight centre) and I sat with the consultant and read out the numbers to make it easier on her :)

    Premium Companion Sale (Oct '16)

yes you can break it - we did it last year. check the terms of the booking. We flew Sydney-LAX-JFK and then on the return journey, we stopped at LAX for a couple of weeks (took an amtrak train to seattle, an alaskan cruise from seattle and then spent some time in santa monica). If you have...

help please get me to NY

when you've sorted out the visa, research how to use the subway in NYC and look for hotels near the line for jfk. Staten Island Ferry is free to sail past the Statue of Liberty and the New York Pass is good value if you use the subway to get between the attractions. Qantas has a 'secret...

I have three: - Susan Boyle in the BA Terminal 5 First Class Lounge - Marco Pierre White on a QF flight - actually a colleague sat next to him in J and talked about it for the rest of the trip (I didn't know who he was at the time) - Sat next to Erykah Badu...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

No I only use it in high risk environments (like a long haul flight, especially with people coughing/sneezing nearby). I don't really care if you want to try it or not. It works for me. :) "The way carrageenan works is by sticking to the virus regardless of type and preventing it from...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

Yes - but if you read the detail of the trials, the mechanism is to capture the virus and stop it from replicating. This means if you catch it earlier than symptoms appear you might never develop the symptoms (ie prevention). People may never know if the virus was in their system or not...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

Maybe so.. Maybe not.. Apparently Coldzyme seems to have the same active ingredient as Vicks First Defence (which I mentioned earlier in the thread). The active ingredient appears to be Carrageenan and the trials (also quoted) are double blind (which are designed to measure the difference...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

whatever...I've used it for both purposes and it works for me and it seems for others. Up to each individual whether they want to try it or not.
