    QantasLink Airbus A220 Discussion

BNE-MEL has been an A220 route since day 1, I flew on an A220 on the first day of passenger flights from BNE-MEL. Nothing special really other than QF using more A220s on the BNE-MEL route and then stretching the 737s to new places like DRW-SIN, BNE-ROR etc

I'm in the QF Lounge thread

I’ll be at MEL between 3-6pm today (so will miss unless JQ super late) and pay a visit to the F lounge.

    Recent Qantas App updates

Noticed this as well, mine showed about 4 days out the rego. For partner flights on aircraft that aren't in the QF fleet (eg A320/A350) it doesn't show an aircraft picture whilst those that are in the QF fleet but partner operated are showing the QF livery plane.

Skytrans to Operate Lord Howe Island Route from March 2026 - Take over from Qantaslink

Most of the 300s are still registered to Qantas awaiting their sale. Back in April Avmax mentioned they had signed a letter of intent with Qantas to purchase the 16x Q300s but it appears this hasn't happened yet except for just a few which were accepted then went into storage. My guess is they...

    ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

One other thing is that pricing across all regions is now the same, Milelion has a good article about this. https://milelion.com/2025/08/05/accor-plus-becomes-all-accor-explorer-stay-plus-nerfed-dining-discount-cut-to-30 I had mine in Malaysia and paid ~$427 per year with 2x free nights...

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

I guess it’s an easy one for them to cancel with other options like QF or JQ via DPS whereas other ports aren’t serviced by other QF group airlines making it harder to recover.

Skytrans to Operate Lord Howe Island Route from March 2026 - Take over from Qantaslink

It does say on the website (https://www.qantas.com/au/en/book-a-trip/flights/smartlynx-australia.html): They are apparently going to add classic rewards on after Feb 2026 but its yet to be seen. This document from a couple of days ago mentions reward seats and even an increase to carrier...

Not really, some hotels might honor the benefits of the higher status member but they don't have to.

Jetstar exits HNL from Oct 2025

There has been unofficial reports on here that those on a 081 ticket can get QF lounge access if on a classic award booked on a different partner. I haven’t tried this but would be worth investigating.

    Qantas Awards on Hawaiian Airlines

This is 1 March next year, interestignly the taxes are a lot less but one other thing is it books onto the AS flight number, the actual flight number is HA452.

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

Sucks yes but it’s clear enough on the website that from 1 October anyone up for having their status assessed is under the new rules. I don’t think they’re going to be super flexible in this regard either, since they announced the changes I think they’ve been less flexible than usual. The...

    Qantas starts international wifi

In the article one thing to note about the following: The switch is from the NBN satellites (which cover Australia) to the Inmarsat satellite network. Whilst Inmarsat covers Australia I assume Qantas/Viasat gets better pricing from the NBN deal therefore more bandwidth for less.

Article: Should Airlines Keep Lounges Open for Delayed Flights?

A couple of years ago I flew VA SYD to BNE last flight of the day. There were rolling weather delays and just two flights left mine to BNE and the other to MEL (the rest had been cancelled meaning a huge crowd at the VA lounge reception). After mostly clearing the crowd (telling those with...
