I forgot about the @JessicaTam factor.... Who could forget her on the last of the old QF9 out of Melbourne to Heathrow, and then straight back on the first of the new QF10 back to Melbourne, all in Y!

Reading the United expansion, it is even more interesting that they will start EWR-GOH (Nuuk, Greenland) on 737. I think that is even more exciting than flying to PDL:

I'd recommend PDL, by the way. Maybe I should do a trip report – visited in 2012 at a time when even Lonely Planet had next to nothing to say about the Azores. That was before Ryan Air sold cheap seats and the rise in tourism we see there today.

There was a connection years ago to Greenland via Canada. Very pricey, but it was short lived.

Unsure about infrastructure in Greenland supporting a large increase in tourists or workers (can they?) but I would have thought something like this a useful route for those wanting to avoid going via CPH or Iceland.

I wonder how many VA points this would be. The ability to redeem reward seats to Greenland would be enough to make me leave QFF...

Any had success redeeming VA points to Nuuk in Greenland on UA metal?

I also read somewhere that UA are eying off Ilulissat as another route option but I don't think that's even a thing yet until they've finished building the new JAV airport.

VA website doesn't have GOH (Nuuk) loaded in however if you edit the URL the results appear otherwise would be bookable over the phone.
