I see. Yeah my VA status would lapse end of this year. So are my choices either: use it on my existing HH account to extend until end 2024 (Apr 2025), or; make a new HH account, use my VA benefit on that one to get Gold until end 2025 (Apr 2026), then subsequently merge both HH accounts?

Yeah, JAL used to specifically state on its website that First Class isn't available as a reward/free ticket. Which is why I was surprised when I noticed award availability SIN-HND-ITM last month for Sep/Oct as there were some availability in first AND business (dubbed Class J).

QF497 SYD-MEL 12/6 No PDBs. Choice was between Grilled Chicken and Cheese Focaccia, Pea and Mint Soup or Cheese Plate. Went with the soup, which was nice and light, perfect after being filled up on my previous flight and the lounge food.

Very meh, though the pork is quite soft, the fat isn't chewy.
