Garuda Indonesia also offers student discounts (plus free extra luggage if travelling Y). It's mainly geared towards expat students going home to visit family, but Australian students should also be eligible for this if they're itching to go to Bali, Jakarta, or any other destination in Indonesia.

It's always been a bit annoying to book. You need to call the GA reservation line, or a local travel agent (I did the latter back in my uni days), and you must confirm your student status every time you book, typically emailing a scan of your student ID is sufficient.

The Qatar "Privilege Club tier upgrade as a graduation gift" is a very nice perk, but it was really disappointing to see there was no waiver to the flight every year requirement over COVID. My friend was a member of student club in university and flew QR on multiple return trips in 2019, 2020, and 2022, but didn't take any QR flights in 2021 (for obvious reasons). QR refused to waive the "The Student Club member must have flown at least one (1) round trip journey per year after they enroll in the Student Club" requirement for him.
