I was just reading a comment on another thread that compression socks can make a big difference to in-flight comfort. I've never bought or worn compression socks. What do they actually do, and do you wear them on long-haul flights?

FWIW I had no luck getting the South African call centre agents to find availability on this route. Called back and got Hobart, and they found availability on the first flight I asked for.

I flew J on the new configuration the other night. I was in 2A, and the kid in 3A thought it would be a fun game to immediately shut my window blind every time I put it back up. This wouldn't have been possible on the old config... *sigh*.

You need to call Qantas to book this route. I have done so in the past, and the second agent could see plenty of availability. Not sure where the first one was looking!

FYI, there's a notice on the Qantas Wine website currently that "From 1 August 2025, Qantas Wine will no longer deliver to addresses in the Northern Territory".
