    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Heaven forbid that they actually start thinking about customer convenience !! Now when we travel other then allowing an extra day for any connection because of potential delays, we will have to allow an extra day (or two) on the return for QF's inability to run anything close to their "non...

    What cheeses me off

After the introductory period the rate drops to 2.75% so there are other accounts to consider at that point. What the media has totally missed and the CBA conveniently ignores is that CBA says it is also closing all 'Complete Access' accounts, an account type that is no longer available, The...

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

Same for me. A legitimate way to save on public transport fares, and with a Gold Opal it is almost free anyway - about $1.60 from Central to Domestic or International. if I recall correctly But who is really paying for the cost of public transport in Qld at $0.50 ? And suggestions that it...

Forced Landside Transit Manila international airport- Visa?

As an Australian citizen travelling on an Australian passport, I always register both my arrival and departure with the eTravel on-line service, even though departure registration is not required. The departure information I have entered then appears on the Immigration screen as I depart and the...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

The blades in the blender will almost certainly not be permitted through security, as carry on. There should still be a Border Force office on the ground floor where you take the goods and they stamp the invoice. Then you can check the goods in (separately or in your suitcase) and still claim...

    What cheeses me off

Under the Australian Consumer Law the "Supplier" is responsible for dealing with any defects in a product. The Supplier in the ACL is defined as "someone who sells goods or services and is commonly referred to as the "trader" or "retailer" or "service provider". Coles, as the Supplier, is...

    Qantas Red Planet

Is that not the way all Government inquiries are structured ? Determine the required outcome then set about finding the evidence to support it, while excluding any unacceptable alternatives that will not support the predetermined outcome. Like an Aviation policy inquiry into consumer rights.

AFF Cruise #2. Rerun. Crown Princess 4 nights 25-29 January 2025

Out of last minute interest I just checked the availability and when this Balcony is selected the result requests you to choose preferred location, and every location offered says "sold out". Bait and no switch.

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

My offer is 4 x $50 for 10,000 points. I never go over $55 (per shop) and the offer never increases. I can do multiple shops at the same time, if necessary, but each is limited to approx $50.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

And remember the new CEO says they are working on improving all their services. That's what you get for what - a $2K seat that you rent for about 8 hours. Such a joke. Travel on CX - they actually want passengers and it shows. QF are a disgrace.

    Putting Amex Into credit?

I gave up on AMEX years ago and it seems nothing has changed. Why would anyone bother dealing with them when the credit card surcharge is so excessive (because of their charges to the merchant) and then you have to jump through hoops to use the card. The tail wagging the dog.

    Qantas Red Planet

Received an email this morning advising I had Project Endzone for 100 points and expected duration 10 minutes. Signed in. Select Endzone and tick the box to agree to participate but was immediately directed to a screen advising I did not meet the criteria and here is 15 points - for wasting my...

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

In NSW only Police (particularly the special transport Police) have the power to take any action. Even the fare inspectors and the station staff can do nothing if they are challenged, except call the Police. It is for their own safety, but makes a joke of enforcement of fare evasion.

    What cheeses me off

Pathetic if the driver did not own up to the fact people on board could not tap-on. The senior gentleman may not have protested if they still issued a fine. He would no doubt have had a Gold Opal so no real advantage to attempting to avoid a fare. Pity you did not get the inspector's details and...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

People are voting with their feet and wallets because of the way QF has the lost the plot. Why would anyone fly QF to the USA (or often the UK) when currently flights are almost guaranteed to be late or cancelled. The travel insurance companies need a standard form with tick-the-box for which QF...

Qantas change fee to increase on 30 July 2025

The new CEO says that QF is "changing for the better" ! I think she meant "changing the fees because it is better for QF" to charge more to move my bundle of rights from one aspiration but not guaranteed fight to another aspirational but not guaranteed flight.

New aviation industry ombudsman & customer rights charter in Australia

Standard Government practice. First decide the desired politically acceptable outcome. Prepare a paper that provides that as an option then sell it as the suitable solution for everyone, particularly if it is acceptable (no matter how ineffective) to those most likely to be detrimentally...
