    Maximising SC on RTW

Did it. Taking this RTW in June and will need 1955 SC for partner to enjoy Gold for 21 months. I realise I could probably get more, but this allows me to ensure all Australian stops are work related and it's enough anyway :D Congratulations!! Valid itinerary!!! - (54105 miles) # of Qantas...

    Maximising SC on RTW

I'm on a mission to maximise SC to get Gold for the partner. I've got 34,000 miles to play with (J Class Global Explorer) and I've spent ages with it and now I'm hoping some of you more experienced types will see a MUCH better way of doing it. This is a business trip so there are certain rules...

departures from home base x 2 RTW

    I'm confused. Mileage Monkey is giving me the okay on this routing - this isn't the case due to 2 x Perth trips? 1: MEL-SYD: 1st of 4 (Southwest Pacific) 2: SYD-PER: 2nd of 4 (Southwest Pacific) 3: PER-NRT: intercontinental 4: NRT-BKK: 1st of 4 (Asia) 5: BKK-LHR: intercontinental 6: LHR-HAM...

departures from home base x 2 RTW

So after reading this forum for ages it's only now become clear to me that one can take a RTW trip, arrive home in same city of departure, yet then tack on a couple of domestic flights as part of the same ticket - is that correct? IE: MEL-SYD-PER-NRT-LHR-JKF-MEL.... MEL-PER-MEL If so, then...

    QC's plummetting standards

And I guess I have a bit of a chuckle when I see people in suits and it's really hot outside and I know that their job requires/expects it and mine doesn't. I guess that makes me the lucky one as I see it, so please, chuckle all you want. I really don't mind... and I'm used to it anyway :p

    QC's plummetting standards

Wearing a suit is no better nor worse (in my mind) than not wearing one, however the previous poster does have a point. Some (not all) suits WILL glance over their paper and look you up and down for not dressing 'smart' - be that in QC or on a train even. In saying that, some 'shabby dressed'...

Yes. Let's not forget where Richard Branson came from after all! Thanks for the acknowledgement. Appreciated.

    QC's plummetting standards

Why would I need a shower? Just because I'm in a t-shirt and therefore 'scruffy' does not mean I'm not clean!

    QC's plummetting standards

That would leave no one in QC. Many of the bogans and yobs are also in suits.

    QC's plummetting standards

Clearly Qantas don't HAVE to enforce anything. It's at their discretion, and their discretion shows that they realise not everyone considered a 'worthy' club member will be wearing a suit. 10.7 Smart, casual dress standards apply at all times. Individual Qantas Club lounge managers will have...

    QC's plummetting standards

Thanks Yada Yada, yes I'm female :) Bad behaviour shouldn't be tolerated anywhere, and I hate loud obnoxious groups of people as much as the next person, but really... are they any worse than the groups of suits that gather at a bar on a Friday night? My point obviously being that I felt it...

    QC's plummetting standards

Wow that's really offensive. How someone dresses is not how someone behaves! For the record, I'm a Qantas Club attendee (almost Platinum status with 5 months to go) and I have tattoos, piercings, bright red hair. I wear what you probably consider scruffy clothes, but my work allows such. I earn...

Expedia vs Qantas / BA / Points

I just found a Tokyo/London return flight on Expedia in J class (BA) for $6800AUD. It's much cheaper than BA's site but has restrictions. I noted that there was nowhere to register a FF number (I'm with Qantas). Does anyone know if you still get full points/status credits on this kind of flight?

Short trip MEL-LAX-MEL - sleep suggestions

I do this trip 3-6 times a year in both classes and often short trips to LA. I've found that you really need to try get J MEL/LAX but LAX/MEL in Y is fine due to the night flight.

    Iberian Business or Business Plus?

Thanks for your help guys. I'm still somewhat confused because of the titles they give their cabins. If Qantas says business and the Iberia site shows business being the dodgy grey 3 seats then isn't that the case and only first-class on Qantas go to business plus? I'm only concerned about the...
