Why can't through flights with same # be booked separately?

We're on QF108 JFK/LAX and then QF94 LAX/MEL 26 hours later so obviously that's okay as well. ...and before you ask, yes I know I can get more SC's flying AA JFK/LAX, but well... that means flying AA and I'd rather have 50 less SC's.

    Time to end lounge overcrowding!

I took 52 flights last year and racked up 102K miles and 2,725 SCs. Nearly 40 of those flights were with Qantas. In addition I booked around 400+ flights for other people. I'm flying to Tokyo on Saturday on a DONE4 and yep... I'm gonna use the first class lounge. I'll be there for about...

Adelaide Airport - Behind the times!

I use my Vodafone blackberry as an alarm. Guess who woke up an hour late in Melbourne yesterday morning.

    New York Airport Choice

If I get I choice I alwasy opt for LGA. Closer to Manhattan, smaller and easier to get around and cheaper cab ride of course. I can't comment on the lounges there, never bothered looking.

DONE4 Pricing (I am an idiot)

I've booked 2 x DONE4 in the last 12 months. The first was work related with 16 sectors (quite a few added as a SC run) in May 07. The next one is a genuine 16 day holiday starting this Saturday and therefore just 8 sectors. Anyway, both of these were booked via Qantas and I paid over $11K...

Thanks turtlemichael. I did purchase the Ambassador card after the reservations - will see what happens. Will report back on all hotels at the end of course.

Work paying for F and J flights

I look after 4 small businesses (1 is my own) and I'm employed by the other 3. For all four the policy is whY, but mostly because we send an average of 6 people per flight (there's approx 20 of us in the four businesses combined) and we book an average of 18 flight legs (x ave 6) a month. - too...

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

Is anyone familiar with the upgrade chances at any of the following hotels? I'm a Plat PC member and I just purchased IC Ambassador as it quotes "Guaranteed room upgrade at time of check-in" - let's see if it happens at the IC's then. I will report back of course. ANA Intercontinental...

    Time to end lounge overcrowding!

Not sure I like the idea of eliminating WPs from Qantas F Lounges. That would mean if one took a trip SYD/LAX/SYD, that one could access the F lounge at LAX, but not the SYD one. That wouldn't seem fair.

    Check in policy MEL/SYD/NRT

Thanks Mal. I'll enquire about the express pass for sure

    Check in policy MEL/SYD/NRT

Thanks all for your suggestions. I have changed to QF400 which will give us an extra hour in Sydney and less stress too of course. Serfty: Any reason why you think the express pass won't be obtainable for the JL flight? It's a JL flight number but the whole flight was booked via Qantas.

    Check in policy MEL/SYD/NRT

Because we're from Melbourne so it's in our blood to avoid Sydney as much as possible :D I go to Sydney once a month or thereabouts already. Thats' about 10 times more a year than I'd like.

    Check in policy MEL/SYD/NRT

I should have been more specific on times. It's more like 1h25m in Sydney: Sat April 05 QF408 MEL 0700 / SYD 0820 JL 772 SYD 0945 / NRT 1720 I booked a DONE4 - I assume I can change the flight time for Mel/Syd quite easily? Other than 4 days off in Cairo last year, this is our first...

    Check in policy MEL/SYD/NRT

Thanks so much for that. I'll definitely remember to ask for the Express Passes at the transfer desk to help minimise transfer time. It's an early AM flight - I'm not so desperate for hubby to see the lounge that I'm willing to get up an hour earlier :)

    Check in policy MEL/SYD/NRT

I'm a platinum and hubby is a gold QFF. We're travelling business class MEL/SYD/NRT on Saturday. We normally fly direct internationally out of Melbourne. On this occassion, the MEL/SYD is a standard domestic flight so we'll transfer to the Sydney international terminal on arrival. With only...
