Jeju Air Flight 2216 Crashes in South Korea

Speculation can only ever be countered by facts, and there seems precious few facts so far. Even flight radar has not shown those last crucial moments, and it may be quite some time until the FDR/CVR are available. In the mean time people have to make judgements about whether to get on a Jeju...

UK rolling out Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

I have really felt the physical impact this last year of being mid-70s. Now using dumbbells and resistance bands to offset a bit, but like you not bragging, just relieved I can still do as much as I do. Edit: If anyone finds a reference to free for over 70s, please post.

UK rolling out Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

Dual citizens with a UK passport do not need an ETA. Still can't find where it says free for over 70s.

Sounds good. I couldn't see that on the ETA page, but presumably it comes up when applying?

Your 2024 year of travel in review

A very quiet year, but here are my stats for 2024: Number of flights: 11 (2 Y, 2 PE, 7 J) for 33,994 miles and all self-funded. Countries visited: 3 (unless we see England and Scotland as separate when it would be 4) New airports visited: INV (where we bumped into Kate Winslet and Richard...

UK rolling out Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

MrsOatek has a UK Passport and an AU one, so should be able to travel as a "British citizen" and not need the ETA (at least until it expires). We are in the same boat as @Pushka with daughter/granddaughter living permanently so will have to pay up or miss out.

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

One of the big issues with the big super funds has been cash. I was advised that when the Govt let people draw down during Covid some of the funds really struggled to convert assets to cash.

Denied Entry to QF 1st Lounge Singapore

Was there two weekends ago, and managed to beat the QF2 crowd. It is very crowded with QF2/292/36/52 and a few other flights going around the same time. Saw they were turning pax away at peak.
