Aus. Financial Review benefit gone. (Replaced with The Australian)

Thanks. I read this as well (just now after my earlier post). I was browsing on my Amex app on iPhone and click explore/learn Platinum benefits and it definitely ONLY mentioned a flat amount of $300 (of Travel Credit). I was alarmed and even thought I might have been redirected to the US Site...

Aus. Financial Review benefit gone. (Replaced with The Australian)

Don’t shoot the messenger but the Amex website (via Platinum Charge log on) now shows $300 (instead of $450) Travel Credit 😰

    New Amex statement credits

Another view “... and spend in-person only at participating American Express Delicious Month Out businesses between 30/04/2021 & 31/05/2021 to receive 20% credit each time”

New Amex Shop Small program - earn 3 bonus points per $1 year-round

It appears the "SS Merchant" still has to be on the list?!

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

It so happened I received an account(!) cancellation confirmation email from Amex today by mistake (I called to cancel two additional cards, not the account). There is no mention of reinstatement option. I called the 1300 number on the email and was assured that the account is still in good...

    New Amex statement credits

Was at St Ives (NSW) LL this morning and was told that the Head office disallowed purchase of mulltiple cards - one card per day per shop. Dd not argue as it's for $10 saving each only (was planning to buy 4x$100)

    RewardPay Alternatives

It’s for payment of strata levy (in NSW?!). I believe it’s a collection service offered by Macquarie Bank and rightly or wrongly find both payers (apartment owners) and payees (strata/body Corp) being ripped off by the charges

    RewardPay Alternatives

I used Credit Rewards this (last) week and received an email confirming the payment "is on its way" on 21/1, as scheduled

Shangri-La Golden Circle status from Amex Plat

Thanks to both @Actos and @Daver6. My Platinum Charge Card was via(?) CPA Australia. I have been enjoying the GC Jade status for the past few years. I checked my Amex online access (after logging in) and the Platinum Benefits page no longer list Shangri-la under Hotel Elite status benefits. I...

Shangri-La Golden Circle status from Amex Plat

I just checked my GC account online and it is stated somewhere that the Jade membership is until 2021 YE (most likely due to pandemic extension). However, the GC Jade membership is no longer mentioned on Amex website platinum benefits page, thus no link to an online enrolment page. Not a concern...

Shangri-La Golden Circle status from Amex Plat

It appears that the Golden Circle Jade membership is no longer available as a Platinum benefit - at least for existing members (with professional association membership). Checked online just now 😞

No wonder why the UK bank shares are in such a dismal state... 😜

    New Credit Card When Retired

I don’t have any insider information but believe the best bet would be aiming for the welcome bonus on Amex Charge Cards (for those haven’t got one). My rationale is 1. You get generous lounge access on an ongoing basis 2. It’s credit assessment may view asset strength more favourably (deferred...

    New Credit Card When Retired

I am really not sure if the banks (or at least their credit department) are that smart BUT one possible justification of their approach is asset-rich people are never their target customers. They make money by charging interest on unpaid balance so they embrace people spending on their future...

    Platinum Charge Companion Card change

I have both - Reserve would be better in most cases. Travel credit $400 vs $200. In general, 2 MR points (vs 1 in the case of Edge) for every dollar spend (except for 3 MR points/$ on Supermarket transactions on Edge). However, why would one use any other AMEX card when Charge gives 2.25 MR...

    Platinum Charge Companion Card change

The extracted wordings from AMEX do mention "Travel Credit" so I was confused despite @Ktan89's comment re "... (no) mention of voucher"
