In most cases i would agree with you. However all they have to do is look an inch to the left to see they are only saving a few dollars.

I am not sure to be honest. They do depart from separate terminals terminal 2 vs TBIT. So the pain of dealing with TSA twice would be enough for me to just suck up the airnz lounge. The strange thing is, the new star alliance lounge is actually operated by airnz.
