    Qantas Wine latest offering

It may be worth it if you intend to buy wine for other people, it doesn't matter who drinks it. The bonuses for the first dozen you buy is 2000 points, and 8000 points when you buy your fourth dozen. If it is free to join for you, there's nothing to lose really.

Crikey - got this overnight, it has been my first Woolies fuel offer since April... I'm excited! - But they always seem to come when I'm working 12 hour shifts over the weekend.

At this stage I'm rostered off that weekend so could be a go-er, subject to change though, barring any unforeseen circumstances work, family or child related.... or if I'm voted in as PM if the leection goes ahead (everyone else seems to be having a crack... )

    E-Tax 2013

I'm no accountant but do a few tax returns using etax and have always found it quite simple, and quick IF you already have the deductions/dividends/income etc recorded. The Good Lady went to an accountant for years before we met, never got anything back but a tax bill as well as an accountants...

I meant the green congrats message, but have no doubt they will get there in the end. The 200 went in quite quickly.

    E-Tax 2013

Worked fine for me - running Windows 7 Home Pro. The ato announced a while back they were going to make a Mac version, as well as one which will be Linux compatible for those so inclined. Before you know it there will be one designed for tablets and smart phones.

How do you say thanks for some great service to QFF call centre staff ?

True, but it isn't often people in the public service industries do it too well, so those that do deserve a well done every now and then.

New Qantas Toolbar - Earn Bonus Points just for searching

Did get an invalid search warning the other day but all subsequent searches have been credited - sitting at around 60 at this stage. I get the impression if you search for the same thing too many times (or even twice) it doesn't add but doesn't stop future searches either. IMO not worth trying...

Which is more economical -FF points or shopping around to find best deal?

Depends on what you value your points at. Personally I prefer a bargain over points and I'm in the same boat as yourself regarding flights. IMO I'm better off buying my fruit and vegies at the local market and getting better quality than paying a premium for Woolies or Coles "fresh" food, with...

    Is this a scam?

So if the scammers typed the booking ref properly, which they now know how to do if they read this thread, people would have been confident opening the unsafe, dodgy as a $3 note zip file? Hope you have good virus detectors guys...

    BBC "Airport Live" TV show

Is it illegal to download a programme which is not available in your country for either sale or viewing? I exchanged a few emails a year/18 months or so ago with Channel 9 on this very topic when they falsely advertised the starting date three times of "Survivor" and ended up showing the first...

20k bonus points with ANZ Income Protection Insurance

With minimum settings my quote was close to $300 as my job is deemed risky. Considering blatantly lying about my job to get the premium down, bearing in mind I will not be able to claim and am simply looking at some cheap points. I'm sure someone will answer soon but are we sure we have to wait...

New Qantas Toolbar - Earn Bonus Points just for searching

Has been working seamlessly the past few days, although I haven't been trying to do countless searches with the thing. 150 a month is only 3 a day so I just use it when I need it and so far so good. - although I find it funny when searching for qantas - the qantas website comes up 3rd..

    Tablets as cameras

haha - Gold! jp junior (6) does the same, started with my Canon 60D when he was 4 and did quite well. Now he owns the 50mm lens, and has taken some decent shots. Struggles with the big lenses and the grip but getting there.

    CC for qantas points

Have noticed less and less places accepting AMEX over the years, and more putting on surcharges. For what it's worth the HSBC card only earns 2 points per $ on overseas transactions (including online), 1 pp$ in Aus and this "limited time offer" has been running for well over a year so I wouldn't...

    Ask The Pilot

Very good point re English speaking ability of pilots. I remember my Dad (ATC now retired) coming home from work when I was a kid telling stories of the "interesting" conversations he had with some pilots, and some of their English ability was very limited, almost dangerously so. Whilst he...

    Thailand

Have a good trip Harry. Chang Mai is lovely, I took my mum and grandmother there and they had a ball, that was 10 years ago though. They also enjoyed BKK and coughet (Karon). Took the good lady this year and we just did BKK and a resort in coughet (Kata) and to be honest only saw "drunken bogans"...

Ideas for a travel gift for a teenager

Welcome aboard TK90, I remember my "favourite auntie" gave me a playboy and a packet of french letters when I first left these shores. For a teenager I'd be thinking ipod/ipad/tablet thingy, those fancy headphones for cancelling out the noise. E book reader (the first thing I take), camera...
