Travel Insurance through credit card provider

If in doubt I would call the insurance company - sure they may not cover you for something, or try to charge you a premium, but that would be better than being stranded with no cover somewhere. Things like asthma, even though they are pre-existing conditions are generally covered anyway by some...

Your chance to join Qantas Loyalty for lunch.

A PDS would be awesome Mr Orange, as, like most I am very interested in what the fees and charges are - which would be covered by a PDS. Working both days, but any questions I would submit would be "Fees and Charges" related.

Travel Insurance through credit card provider

After a lot of online research, and calls to the insurance company, I have been - however the only thing I am really concerned about is the medical side of things. Treatment, evacuation etc, as the only item I generally carry with me worth a great deal of money is my camera gear (around $10,000...

    Double Status Credits 2013

Was in the same boat last year, had zero travel planned for the 3 months I had the offer. Will see how it pans out this year, and plan less far ahead and see what happens. Our new holiday strategy is just to have a few little interstate trips, and if/when the DSC happens smash out a few o/s J...

The demise of Qantas international flights

Well put - which is why (IMO) it went to JQ. I spent a lot of years flying through Thailand, and still do on occasion, and the vast majority of people are holidaying, looking for the cheapest fare (Jetstar, Air Asia etc). Even the tourist folk staying at 5* places do due to the fact it costs a...

Brilliant idea, the Good Lady and I have often sent letters of thanks to airlines, hotel staff, even retailers thanking them for a job well done.

The demise of Qantas international flights

re MEL-BKK, which I used to fly several times a year some time ago. JQ and TG are the only ones flying direct now, TG used to be via SYD (often coming home when I used to fly them) but switched to all or mostly direct now since QF dropped off. Not sure about Air Asia but more often than not...

    MEL - Pre-Pay Parking

The OP stated it was the discrepancy in pick up time for the car in which he was charged the extra. T&C's either wrong or not being applied correctly I'd say.

    MEL - Pre-Pay Parking

One hour grace each way isn't a lot - especially considering customs/immigration/baggage collection for international flights can vary from 1 to 3 hours (IME).. pretty hard to pinpoint your time within 2 hours, delays not withstanding... Think I'll keep on parking at friends' places nearby - all...

Ryanair staff getting bonuses for catching passengers with excess/large baggage ...

Re: Ryanair staff getting bonuses for catching passengers with excess/large baggage . John, I wouldn't put BKK Air in the LCC category. I have only flown them domestically and they are the most expensive in Thailand, but also the best in my humble opinion.

Are some crew members unfit for duty?

As far as safety concerns, I'd rather an "old head" keeping passengers and less experienced staff calm, than younger staff who may or may not be competent. In my experience dealing with emergency situations, (and there has been a few), the older more experienced staff seem to handle it/deal with...
