    EDR Cellarmasters Promotions (new)

Only ordered from them once - last year, and it was delivered one business day after the order. I'm not far from the Hoppers warehouse.

    China Southern

Sounds cheap, especially for J - I flew them about 6-8 years ago a few times and they were definitely one of the cheapest around. That was MEL-China. We got there OK, on time, and were fed etc, but they didn't compare to airlines like Qantas, Thai, Singapore, BA etc. My Dad (retired ATC) has...

    Jetstar points

Flew Jetstar in Feb/March to Thailand - Economy points MEL-BKK posted after about 3 days, Business on the way home posted the day after we got home. I re-confirmed they had out QFF numbers when they phoned a few days before the outbound flight though, tbh was expecting it to take a month or...

Is it time to stop whining about LCC's?

We flew Air Asia and BKK Air in Feb. Air Asia got us there ok, but BKK Air were fantastic (both in economy). Pretty sure the Air Asia was a bit cheaper but BKK Air's food, service and seating were definitely better. I'd go as far as saying they are probably Thailand's best or 2nd best airline...

Changing flights on Jetstar and the huge costs!

Unfortunately that's cheap airlines for you - ANY changes will bring the cost(s) up in a big way. Unless you are 100% sure you won't be making changes to your bookings, it may be beneficial to look at the fares which cost a bit more at the outset, but allow changes at a cheaper or free rate...

    New HSBC QFF CC

Yes - I got this card last year (Sept/Oct from memory) and the Qantas points automatically go in at each statement. No transferring required, it's all automatic. I think some other HSBC cards have "HSBC Rewards" which may be what has been referred to.

    Formula one noob.... need tips

The F1 Live Stream (Android, not sure if it's on Apple as well) App which was free, works well for me - live timings for practice, quali and race works seamlessly. Very handy, especially for quali when things are changing quicker than the TV commentators can keep up with towards the end of the...

    EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

Others keep forgetting to use the gift card when they go to the particular shop that they have the gift card for. These are the people who get caught out. Which is one of the two big reasons businesses love gift cards, a good percentage of them are never used, add that to the fact...

    EDR Cellarmasters Promotions (new)

Got the same offer in the post yesterday myself, although it wasn't a birthday voucher, just a "welcome to cellarmasters" voucher, in the post rather than email this time. Have only purchased once, which included 1000 or 1500 bonus points before Christmas. Though the wines are cheap, will likely...

    Planes (movie)

Looks awesome! Boy Junior (6) loved Cars 1+2, and just between us, I did too. He learned a few lessons from McQueen, Doc, Mater and the lads. I'm confident we'll be seeing it when it comes out.

    QFF Value of Silver Status?

You can buy one off passes to International Qantas Clubs off Ebay for around $45-65 depending on their expiration date. The same one some credit cards issue to customers. Not too bad, especially if you are hungry or thirsty. Would be easy to spend this amount of money or more paying airport...

Karon / Kata, coughet ... A decent hotel.

Just got back from Karon and Kata today. Stayed at Metadee Resort whilst in Kata and it was fantastic. Staff were excellent, food and accommodation was great, clean etc. Can't recommend them highly enough, will likely be back again soon.

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

That's nice MadFairlane, very nice - was trying to talk the GL into something similar myself. Ended up with a Mitsubishi Triton, which we're happy with. Enjoy the new toy.

Coming to Australia for first time

Juice, Welcome to the board 1. Banks will be no problem, there may be a fee but shouldn't be if she has accounts with that bank (if she already has an Aussie bank account I'd go to that bank). 2. Generally cash for smaller items, but most places where she can buy coffee (cafe), snacks (milk...
