Cathay serve wine to 3yr old.

This incident happened about two weeks ago now. The article doesn't really say that the FA got fired, so it's likely safe to assume they're still employed, maybe with a mark on their record now. If the FA did get fired, then the company clearly viewed them as expendable for the sake of image...

    Lunch at 0940

I didn't know there were two services on such flights (don't think PER flights have them, except for red eyes). 1.40 pm is a late lunch? Some of you have it good at work! 😅 #justkidding

    Lunch at 0940

I think BNE-PER or SYD-PER is the longest in the domestic system (one of them is blocked at around 5 hours) I think I've heard that "lunch" is also served on a BNE-PER service leaving at around the same time as the OP's stated flight. (I think there was a post in the QF Business meals thread)

Article: The “Lounge Within a Lounge” Concept

Where you have a clear two different lounges and one encapsulates the other, I believe that's just a design decision or building restriction. They could have properly configured the space or build so that each lounge existed with clear separated flows for each, but they didn't. I'm not sure it...

    Lufthansa strikes again!!

I guess taking chances with a civil suit might be better as it's a balance of probabilities rather than beyond a reasonable doubt. Once again, if Lufthansa doesn't send anyone to court, they can't veritably defend or expect a ruling in their favour, no matter how outrageous the original claim...

Dining advice - vegetarian strategy in J class flights

You can view the onboard menus of upcoming flights from SQ's website: Singapore Airlines - In-flight Menu You can see if there are any options that are suitable for you, or whether you may need to order ahead. As far as I can tell, these menus rarely change (unless you have some weird event...

    Boeing Whistleblowers Testifies 2024

Hopefully those who testify can remain alive. I wonder if the change in national regime may have an effect on the investigation.

    VA Lounge Cheesecake

You could try and make it at home - plenty of recipes around the web. It's a baked cheesecake that's made richer with eggs.

    Lufthansa strikes again!!

I assume the OP demanded to be let off the plane, and probably and quite vocally communicated the reasons. Oddly enough, apart from maliciously wasting the airline's time, I can't see a reason why any airline can refuse to offload a passenger if they so express it, irrespective of the reason...

    Lufthansa strikes again!!

Didn't know LH had a GM in Australia. Gonna guess lawsuit (or small claims) filed, then either default judgement or settlement, all done in absentia and quickly. No court case, no response. Interested to know how the balance will be between a fundamental failure of LH to provide a particular...

    Virgin Australia flights to Doha

No one's been able to comment on the mechanics of how upgrades will work. I can only presume that if an upgrade exists at the time you request it, it is fulfilled immediately, otherwise you go on a waitlist. When on the waitlist, fare type will always exceed status (i.e. a Flex Gold will outrank...

    What cheeses me off

Especially if you were upgraded at both, both sound like the types that would not have shubs in the bathroom. The above seems to be one of the "standard fitouts" of Japanese hotel bathrooms, viz. they look very similar to this - same tub, same shower head, same sink and bench, with the same...

    What cheeses me off

Heaps of hotels in Japan, including reputable Western hotel chains, still have shubs. Sure, those properties have been around for ages (they do keep them surprisingly very clean, however). My theory though is that many Japanese might squat or sit in the tub to use the shower head instead of...

    What cheeses me off

That's so weird; I wonder what the rationale is. Does it rely on your signing up with a French IP (e.g. VPN) or you need to provide an address in the Ile-de-France region? (I wonder if you could sign up with a relevant address, then change the address after the account is created and verified)

Spice bar at Melbourne Qantas Domestic Business Lounge

A bit confusing all around. The names "Hokkien noodles" and "Singapore noodles" could be used interchangeably in various ways (more particularly if they refer to a dish, rather than a type of noodle). But if I read that on first impressions, I would have been expecting a thicker noodle for the...
