Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

It was quite the weekend. We had 300+ here in the city. Saturday night far worse then Friday and Sunday very ordinary as well. They brought the ferries up the river on Sunday afternoon, ready to start service yesterday morning. Debris was just starting to appear. Yesterday morning they started...

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

We were sent our new flights to Adelaide last night. Mine at 8.15 on Sunday morning and bAlt's after 12 (revenue and rewards bookings). It would give bAlt 40 minutes in ADL before we were due to come back on our still scheduled Sunday afternoon flight. At least I would have got to one of the...

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

If it had been 4am or 7am tomorrow I reckon we had a chance of flying to Adelaide on Saturday morning but now that it is 4pm tomorrow arvo I think that our chances are slim. We have until midnight tonight to cancel hotel. I'll keep an eye on how the track changes. We'll let Qantas cancel the...

Received an email yesterday of schedule changes to flights we have to/from Melbourne later in the year. 'So you can experience our new A220' or something like that. Looking forward to it. J down and Y back.

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

We're off to Adelaide Saturday morning to get our Fringe on. Fingers crossed things have calmed a little by then. It's a new and odd experience looking down onto the Brisbane River and wondering what is in store for the region over the next few days.

    A NZ South Island sojourn

Bit late to the party. Thanks for an excellent trip report John. We were just over in Akaroa for the Jan 26 weekend and had a lovely if slightly damp time. We were in Kaikoura (and Picton) last October for an extended long weekend. Very much enjoyed our visit to Fyfe House while in Kaikoura.

Very disappointed about Qantas FF program

We will. Slight spanner in the works on Wednesday morning when QF cancelled our scheduled SYD-JNB flight and moved is to the day before. Of course they didn't move our connecting flights from Brisbane to Sydney so that flight was after we left for JNB. Three hotels had to be changed but all...

AFF Gathering #18 in MEL on 21-23 November 2025

I'm a gold. There's a very high chance that I will no longer be working and will have plenty of time on my hands.

Very disappointed about Qantas FF program

We're flying to Nairobi in May. I booked our flights in October last year. We're flying Brisbane-Sydney-Johanessburg return with Qantas. We're flying Kenyan to Nairobi that we have booked separately. As a platinum I was able to book premium economy return on points for my partner. Back in...

China, Korea and a little bit (of Japan) on the side

I have one on the back of my neck and bAlt one on his bicep. Neither big enough not to be able to be covered by sports tape. Just had to find one sticky enough

The Grinch(es) take Seoul for Christmas

Thank you. As I said at the end of the report we couldn't fault Kiboko as a company. The bus needed a bit of maintenance but when you consider the roads those vehciles travel on it's not surprising that it did. We chose the tour because it was small group and 16 was if anything still a few too...

Just looked back at our trip in 2018. We went to Jinshanling. Private driver. David actually walkedsome of it with us and it was USD150 each! Lunch was included but somehow we ended up paying for it. Ah well
