Avoiding the dreaded E Class on QF when crediting to AAdvantage.

I'm giving serious thought to jumping ship to AAdvantage for my travels, and qualifying as EXP on segments (almost 100 segments a year SYD-TMW, plus a DONE5 each year). However, I notice that E Class (a sale fare class?) on QF Domestic earns no mileage credit, and therefore, I assume, no Elite...

    Heads up about program changes

New table up on the Fairer Flying site: Frequent Flyer - Fairer Flying Doesn't say anything about earning from partner airlines, though.

    Heads up about program changes

We need a thread which details which other OW options there are, and how easy it is to attain status, depending on what sort of flyer you are.

    Heads up about program changes

I'm a 100+ segment a year flyer, previously with QF. I'll be looking at heading to AA as a result of this.

US to exit STAR 30th March & join ONEWORLD 31st

Only 5 days out and still no updated xONEx fare information and US Airways flights are not yet bookable. Also, QANTAS phone line still has no idea when they will be bookable. I am hoping that it's 31st March because I need to book my next DONE5 and I want to use US Airways for some of those!

US to exit STAR 30th March & join ONEWORLD 31st

Any idea on when we can start booking US Airways flights as part of an xONEx fare? I'm itching to get my next DONE5 booked as I'm flying in just over a month.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Let's face it, BAEC Lifetime Gold/OWE is rather high at 35,000 TP (23 years of BAEC Gold), or Gold Guest List at 100,000 TP (66 years of BAEC Gold, or roughly 33 years of Gold Guest List). Finnair sits Lifetime Platinum/OWE at 5 million TP, or about 33 years of Finnair Platinum. QF LTG/OWS is...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Well done! I'm going to be there in two years. I'm still looking to move all my flights to AA after that. I wonder whether writing to QANTAS and saying "the lack of a lifetime status after LTG has me leaning towards crediting to AAdvantage from now on - but if there was a published LTP, I...

Moving to AAdvantage after QF LTG?

For reference: What's next for Qantas frequent flyers with Lifetime Gold status? - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller This is incorrect. N and Q class fares are now mileage earning fares, at 50% and 25% of base miles flown respectively. What's...

    Hilton Sydney Diamond upgrade

This is a hotel that is now near capacity and it's exceedingly hard to get a suite (I used to get them routinely, now they are rare). I would not expect a big upgrade, but if it comes, that is fantastic. The difference between the Standard, Plus and Executive rooms is minimal and it's not...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

When Hilton's occupancy was much lower I was getting suite upgrades (relaxation room/relaxation suite/junior suite) fairly regularly - as the occupancy has risen, this is much worse now. I rarely get the upgrades at all now.

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

The removal of suite from this wording was a long time ago now - it wasn't there for very long.

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Last week (and this week, multiple stays) I am getting the "as Hilton Diamond, your access is complimentary" rather than having to select a rate plan. Maybe there's something wrong with your profile?

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

I've noticed on the ASA Spreadsheet no one has booked CBR-SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD-CBR in J on a mASA - by my calculations that's 36000 points and 280SC (doubled to 560SC on this promotion). I might be wrong here - and I haven't tried to book it, and I'm not sure it can be done in a single day, but...

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

If you're just looking for 80SC from CBR-SYD-CBR, if you just book a standard revenue fare (flexi-saver or above) which will earn you full economy status credits (20SC CBR-SYD and 20SC SYD-CBR - doubled to 80SC during the promotion. Can do it easily in much less than a day - about $540, no...
