9 hours in Frankfurt - shopping?

I have a 9 hour layover in Frankfurt, would like to make the most of my time there and get some shopping done. Can anyone recommend some shopping areas - is it worth leaving the airport to go into the city? Mainly interested in buying jeans, tops etc

When you are told to go into a holding pattern due to delays how and what distance do you set the turn radius, is it a setting or is the flying done manually? I spent 2 hours above Bangkok doing circles a few years back because the Thai Royals had decided they needed the airport. Not great fun...

Consistency and patience JohnK! Weight loss takes time, unfortunately the body has its own ways of choosing when to drop the fat. It is very normal to lose 2 kilos one week and none the other, even with the same calorie deficit. Just make sure you know how much you are eating and stick with it...

First time in a lounge (only the gallery at Heathrow) and I am starting to understand the lengths people go to achieve airline status !! I can get used to this, although I did feel a bit awkward walking in and not knowing if it was free etc. Great feeling having a warm shower with 6 different...

    Ask The Pilot

Morning JB from sunny Heathrow (I wish).... I have a question about pilots that end up flying "celebrities" and VIP's around. Are these pilots considered any different in skill level to the average large commercial airliner pilot? Are they usually on a higher pay grade considering the financial...

Trust me I think the same, maybe the kid made it big and turned his school project into a reality !! The hunt continues, what did the JR symbol on the plane look like?

This has probably been posted before but I enjoyed it. Looks like a brazilian pilot (first part is from Santos Dumont airport in Rio). I never realised they had a stick, does the first officer on the right also have a control stick and if so is it hard to get used to using the opposite hand -...

Do you have a rough idea how much force would have been transferred to the fuselage to cause that damage we saw on the video? I'm hoping it was way more significant than anything likely to happen in the sky due to weather etc !! I guess the shock absorbers (do they exist?) can only handle so much.

Hey JB, I was reading this article about a Jetblue flight that had hydraulic troubles and this caught my eye Am I correct in thinking that not being able to dump excess fuel when needed is a limitation that shouldn't exist? From the quick research I did it seems that the A320 can land at MTOW...

Hey JB, hope you had a great holiday. If you could pass on some advice to the younger generation that you think would benefit them what would it be? This could relate to family, career etc.

Do you envision any fundamental changes to the design of passenger aircraft in the next few decades and if so what do you think they will be? I was reading about Iberia doing part of a flight with biofuel - I would love to hear your thoughts on this issue and what effect if any it might have on...

    QANTAS FF survey

I was on QF17 yesterday and a survey booklet was handed to me, I filled it out honestly and pointed to areas I think they can improve. At least they are asking the customers what they think, who knows if they will listen to what we tell them !!

If there was a swimming pool inside a aircraft and a person was swimming in it without touching the bottom would he/she not feel the majority of movement/jolting due to turbulence? I have had this thought in my head some time in the future passenger seats will exist on airliners that compensate...

Qantas 747-400 Flyover at Albert Park

Re: 2012 Australian F1 Grand Prix Qanats Flyover I was on this aircraft from EZE>SYD 2 weeks ago. The old fella definitely needs the A380 seat upgrades, I tried moving my headrest higher to match my head and the thing fell off !! The FA had a laugh and I asked if they had any super glue or...
