I travel frequently, looking for a suitcase to replace my mandarin duck one. The stiching went on that one because I picked it up with the end handle. Most people seem to say Samsonite is a good choice, not sure whether to get a soft case or hard case.. As for the models, not to sure what the Duralite range is like?? 4 wheels vs 2 wheels?? Also the size - is 74cm too big if I will be packing 15-20 kilos on most trips? I am 6ft2 and also find it a bit annoying having to bend down to hold the handle so I can wheel the suitcase. Any websites online as well I need it delivered to me in Melbourne before Tuesday next week. Thanks for the help

Just the other day I received an email about massive discounts on samsonite luggage

If you travel a lot wouldn't it make more sense to invest in a good suitcase?

I ended up with the Samsonite Duralight, lets see how it goes.

I bought a $160 55cm Samsonite with four wheels last year. It seems to be pretty tough - no signs of wear yet even though I have since taken it all around the world with me, including a 2km walk through the streets of Singapore in 35 degree heat the other day when I needed to get to a meeting and couldn't get a taxi, being lugged around in tuk tuks in Chiang Mai etc, and checking in and out of too many hotels and flights to count.

I wasn't sure about the four wheels thing at first but it turns out to be incredibly useful, as it means it can stand up on its own while you grab your passport, talk on the phone etc. I also bought the laptop bag which stacks on the top, which is a bit daggy but often turns out to be a lifesaver.

Having said that, I always travel with hand luggage only so perhaps my bag has avoided some of the hard times that bags experience in the cargo hold.

Anyway, try Luggage Professionals - Melbourne - Sydney - Brisbane. Great service and the prices seemed to be quite a bit lower than DJs.
