Earn Points and SCs with Any Seat Award Flights

It sounds like a good use of points for your purposes then. Given it's somewhere you need to go anyway and it will still get you over the line for renewing WP it seems like a more sensible use of points than flying to a destination that you have no need to visit, especially if it's not going to...

Earn Points and SCs with Any Seat Award Flights

Even better I've found from a value point of view if using just points is to Jakarta from Adelaide. Doing ADL-SYD-CGK-SYD-ADL is a total of 126,973 points, only 2200 more than doing SYD-CGK-SYD. If you pick the right days you can even get QF81/QF82 for the ADL-SYD portions and be in a Skybed the...

    Citi launching new Signature card

Ahhhhh, to be in the US, the land of rewarding credit cards! :)

    CITI BUSINESS VISA Card

I've had the card for a few years now. From the point of rewards the card's good - points transfer 1:1 to Qantas in blocks of 10,000, else 1.5:1 to Velocity or Krisflyer (so not as great for them). You certainly can't find a better Visa card for Qantas points earning anyway. On the downside...

    BankWest More Platinum Great Value

Keep in mind that the earn rate is 2 points per dollar for the Platinum, or 1.5 points per dollar for the Gold or Classic. With 30,000 points sign-up bonus for the Platinum as well at the moment it's not too shabby for those that have no interest in a Frequent Flyer program anyway.

Citibusiness Card half price for 1st year to new applications

From personal experience if you give them a call to cancel the card you should be able to do even better than half off the annual fee. ;)

    Citi launching new Signature card

After being shuffled around to a couple of different areas and spending a while on hold I finally managed to get the points conversion rate for the Citi Select card: 2 Citi Rewards Points = 1 Velocity Point 2 Citi Rewards Points = 1 Krisflyer Mile 2 Citi Rewards Points = 1 Asiamiles point 3...

Emirates Citi Platinum - 3 Skywards Miles per $1

Of course the devil's in the detail: So it's nice for the first 10,000 miles earnt I guess, but they make sure not to trumpet that aspect too loudly. :D

    Moving points to Ascent Premium?

I recently went through a similar process as well, though I had a Platinum Credit Card and Gold Charge card attached to that for no annual fee. I added a Platinum Charge Card and my points all migrated automatically across to Ascent Premium program. Surprisingly I called to cancel my Gold Charge...

    Downgrading from Platinum Card

I downgraded from the Platinum Card to the Gold Card a few years ago and was given a pro-rata refund of the difference in cost between the two (I've since moved across to the Citibusiness Gold which is definitely the way to go from a points earning perspective). It's probably worth giving them a...

    Citi launching new Signature card

Given the relative lack of value of the Citibank Platinum if you're paying the full price I suspect you'll be right in regards to the Signature card too.

    CITIBUSINESS Rewards to SIA

It's 1.5 Citibank points to 1 Krisflyer mile. Not sure of the minimum transfer - it used to be 15,000 points, but may have changed.

Platinum Card, what will I get for $900

For a supp card holder they can buy a Priority Pass Membership for US$249 (rather than usual price of US$399). Only the primary card holder gets Priority Pass membership included.

    Qantas American Express Discovery Card

My wife just got a flyer in the mail to apply for the new Qantas American Express Discovery Card - doesn't appear to be on the AMEX website yet, but basically it's got no annual Card fee for the life of the card (the good side) and it earns 0.75 points per dollar spent (the not so good side)...

    Visa or Mastercard

The Citibusiness Gold Visa Card gives you 1.25 points per dollar up to a cap of 80,000 points per year. You can only transfer in multiples of 10,000 to QF though, at a 1 for 1 basis. It's by far the best points earning card for Visa given all the recent devaluations (just hope you don't need to...

Platinum Card, what will I get for $900

I was under the impression that for the Buyers Advantage Warranty Extension the purchase had to be made with the Charge Card rather than the Credit Card - perhaps others can confirm? The Car Rental insurance also seemed to indicate that it needed to be paid for with the Charge Card. The other...

50,000 Membership Rewards points for Platinum Charge Card

I received the mailout as well for this - you can apply online at www.americanexpress.com.au/bluemoon_offer - whether or not it'll be accepted if you weren't included in the mailout I can't say for sure, but doesn't hurt to try. :D

Quick, cheap 80 SCs before 31 May

The 100,000 points is if you pay for the taxes with points as well - otherwise you can book it for 72,000 points + $293.22 if you prefer to pay taxes and charges with cash. Plus you'll earn points for the flights as well, whereas with the Oneworld award you won't. I certainly agree with you...

    Amex - Blue Moon offer

I received this offer as well - it's tempting for the reduced fee rather than the points. Looking at the T&C's of the 50,000 points offer indicate that the points won't post until September or so anyway (and given AMEX's track record in relation to points, probably a whole heap of hassle on top...

Quick, cheap 80 SCs before 31 May

One of the best options I've seen in relation to Anytime Awards if you're interested in the maxing SC's is to fly SYD-MEL-ADL-ASP-ADL-MEL-SYD in J. It comes in at under 100,000 points return if you find the right days, earns 280 SC's and can be done in one day (well so long as you don't mind...
