Is it worth paying for "VIP" customs and immigration clearance at HKT ?

Thank you for that. Yes , it’s a tricky one. I’ll ring SQ to check as to whether they supply a fast-track pass.

Anybody savvy about current Costco wine deals and / or selection ?

Afternoon all ! Anyone have any tips/info on current Costco wine deals? I'm primarily interested in any quality imports they have at the moment. Last time I went through their range was about twelve months ago and the selection - at the Moorabbin Vic store - was mundane and a number of their...

Is it worth paying for "VIP" customs and immigration clearance at HKT ?

Hoping some learned fellow members can assist with this; We are flying SQ Biz class into HKT late afternoon on December 29th. Will SQ issue us with any "priority" C & I clearance "vouchers", and if not, should we expect the wait time at immigration to be lengthy. I have just checked the...

JQ begins selling MEL-BQB (Busselton WA)

There are many categories of “tourists” so your generalisation is as correct as any generalisation can be. I can only relate what I was told first hand by various business leaders on the Sunshine Coast. Noosa found that when Jetstar took MCY over from QF, that the demo of the visitor market...

JQ begins selling MEL-BQB (Busselton WA)

Heated agreementment. If the experience of MCY is anything to go by - and I believe it is - having an airport serviced only by a VBC is ultimately not great for tourism, especially when you are talking about high-cost markets peddling something premium product, you need full service carriers. I...

JQ begins selling MEL-BQB (Busselton WA)

Yes, I dare say that you are correct re Virgin. So I’ll keep the enjoying the drive down to Margs as Jetstar is a “Harvey Norman” for me : no interest ever.

JQ begins selling MEL-BQB (Busselton WA)

I’m a huge fan of Margs. Have plenty of friends there in the wine industry and the wine and food is fabulous. ( hope to make it to this years Margs Gourmet Escape ) One problem with this Jetstar initiative; it’s Jetstar. No joking, personally I’d rather make the drive from Perth after arriving...

Should I get a paid Travel insurance policy?

Anyone with experience/comments about the adequacy of the amex platinum charge card cover ? Also, has anyone seen a comprehensive review/comparison of cc travel policies ? That would make interesting reading and what I was hoping the original web post was addressing.

    Flybuys General Promotions

Probably not the right place for this post however just wanted to alert members to how fast fly buys points are transferred and credited with velocity. This morning I transferred points over to avail myself of the 15% transfer bonus and they showed up in my velocity account within 5 seconds...

    Thank you VA

Seems to be a consistent message that VA actually use common sense in these matters as distinct from what I often read about QF. I had a first hand experience recently with VA customer service where they were very understanding of exceptional circumstances and made the required ticketing changes...

Loyalty is a one way affair - goodbye QFF

I feel for the OP. All of this is why I have sentenced both Qantas and JQ to “life without possibility of parole “ . I’ll happily pay more if need be to not fly with either of them. Both are Businesses run for the convenience of the management and staff, not for the satisfaction of the customer.

    Annual travel insurance

In saying that you are taking out a separate annual policy, does that mean you have established that the amex platinum card cover was in itself insufficient ? I too have amex plat ( charge card ) and am looking at extended travel this year.

Do most Platinum Charge holders rely on just the AmEx rental car cover?

Yes, I completely agree. The inscrutable reasoning seems to be something along the lines of the card insurance is for “travel and travellers” and not for “at home” rentals.... Beats the hell out of me....would be fascinated to hear from other members what response they got/get if they take...

Do most Platinum Charge holders rely on just the AmEx rental car cover?

Check the rental car cover on the PDS for the insurance with your amex plat charge and you will see that you are NOT covered for the rental ins excess if the rental occurs within 150km of your residential address. Hence if you rent a car from anywhere near where you live , you are exposed to...
