    Checking in bags multiple times?

I did a quick search but nothing really came up (this one was close, but not quite my situation). I'm flying out of SIN with SQ in a few months on one of the post-midnight flights, and was thinking of getting to the airport early for dinner and a bit of shopping at Jewel. I was wondering if...

    Westpac Offers - discounted Crowne/IC

Not sure yet, haven’t stayed a night using this deal. But given you still book through the IHG site, I would assume you still get the normal benefits?

    Westpac Offers - discounted Crowne/IC

Couldn't find this on another thread, but this could be worthwhile for those who want to book a room at IC or Crowne. Find this on your Westpac online banking under "Rewards and Offers". You may need to be a Westpac credit card customer, and you may need to click "Display More" a few times...

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

That's prior to the actual launch of CNS-HND though, so I'm not sure what to make of that?

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

The info on the previous page suggests this flight is daily, not 3x weekly. Unless you’re referring to the adl-cns connection mentioned in some posts? And while their J fares might be lower than some QF J syd-Mel flights, it’s not a fair comparison to look at the cheapest J with VA on this...

Qantas to start flights from Darwin to Singapore

Looking at the timings, it looks like alliance could operate this in the “downtime” of qf1918/1919

    Darwin Qantas Pub

Apologies for reviving this thread, but just a clarification regarding the below: I'm booked onto QF1919 in a couple of weeks. While it is QF-coded, it has the note: Does that mean the lounge won't be open? The other flights leaving around that time are also operated by Alliance (or Air...

    Taken Qantas Lounge Invitations

I have four lounge passes available, expiring 17 December 2022. If anyone can use them let me know.

    eSims, what is your experience.

Do you know how Flexiroam prioritises between packs if you have two at the same time? E.g. a global one, and a local/regional one. I can see in most cases it's better to use the more specific one, but in other cases (e.g. if the global one is about to expire first) then you may want to use the...

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

I don't think any form of VA using their HND slot... is correct, that would be the case only if the form of VA using their slot involves starting from a QLD airport. Obviously most of the discussion on this thread has been about flights ex-BNE or ex-CNS, but some of the posts suggest that they...

Article: Has Virgin Australia Had Its Goldilocks Moment?

Agreed, even if Rex hadn't come in and all of their patronage had gone to QF (unlikely.. I would say ZL is more attractive to a VA flyer), that would only get QF to 66.3%, still well short of the 70% target. The remaining 'QF market share underperformance' has to be due to VA.

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

My brief reading of that one is that it just relates to the rights of Japanese and US carriers? (Although I do admit IANAL and may have missed some nuance of the wording). My quick google suggests that the treaties on this page might be more relevant, particularly the linked treaty with Japan...

    What cheeses me off

The quality difference should be imperceptible. YouTube music uses 256kbps AAC and Spotify premium is 320kbps ogg vorbis (at the highest quality setting). Tests have shown that humans are generally unable to tell the difference with common audio codecs at 256kbps or above.

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

Looking at the underlying data: - Yes, the figures @CaptJCool is presenting (the roughly ~2.5mil number in particular) includes part and full rate pensioners - Surprisingly, no, the drop in the total number of people receiving pensions (full or part) is entirely driven by a drop in the number...

Article: Great Value Round-the-World Tickets with Finnair & Lufthansa

This might be a bit outdated, but the product it describes seems similar to what is described in the OP/article: https://www.lufthansaexperts.com/shared/files/lufthansa/public/mcms/folder_806/folder_6108/file_146276.pdf It suggests that P/Z/D/C/J are possible, with the price just increasing...

    Airport bag handling video

I wouldn't be surprised about throwing like the VA clip showed - the staff have time pressures too and there may not be enough time to walk each bag to the end of the trolley to put them gently down. Doing an overhead slam WWE-style is a different matter though, and is something beyond the...

    RewardPay Alternatives

That’s the current rates (albeit with the new cheaper custom visa rate listed too). The new ones are: - 1.25%+gst for visa (standard rate; earns bonus points) - 0.5%+gst for bank transfer (reduction in bonus earn to 1 point per $4 spent) - no bonus points on Amex payments over $1mil

    New Amex statement credits

I got that too. Given the nature of the product, it seems odd that they've left this payment term in: Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
