Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

No I only use it in high risk environments (like a long haul flight, especially with people coughing/sneezing nearby). I don't really care if you want to try it or not. It works for me. :) "The way carrageenan works is by sticking to the virus regardless of type and preventing it from...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

Yes - but if you read the detail of the trials, the mechanism is to capture the virus and stop it from replicating. This means if you catch it earlier than symptoms appear you might never develop the symptoms (ie prevention). People may never know if the virus was in their system or not...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

Maybe so.. Maybe not.. Apparently Coldzyme seems to have the same active ingredient as Vicks First Defence (which I mentioned earlier in the thread). The active ingredient appears to be Carrageenan and the trials (also quoted) are double blind (which are designed to measure the difference...

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

Yes - but I use it once or twice on long haul flights BEFORE symptoms develop with success. As do others. (Especially if someone is couthing/sneezing nearby)

Spray for protecting against flu from other passengers

Actually there is a spray I have used for years with success to avoid colds etc. It is no longer available in Australia but can be purchased online cheaply from Britain. It is called Vicks First Defence. I highly recommend it. Here is a link to reviews Vicks First Defence Reviews -...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Re: General Qantas Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion one thing goes wrong and it multiplies - my mother was on QF2 from LHR delayed 12 hours (passengers overnight in hotel at LHR), delayed again in DBX (apparently because passenger took too long shopping and they missed the slot), arrived...

Travel Agent (Falsely) Claiming Zero Availability on QF

Very interesting thread. I have had similar experiences at work with international trips. It goes like this.... I look up availability for (international) flights, find a good deal, get told by the TA that there is no availability, tell them that I can see the seats on the exact QF flights...

Upgrading Using Points to ensure a bed for the Disabled

My twenty cents - I agree it is worth ringing - I don't know for sure but you could probably have a drink with her in the j class on board lounge if travelling on an a380 and not making too much noise (could she sit in the lounge?) - in my view, there should not be any problem with people...

My booking has been split into two - partner now in separate but linked booking

Thanks for the advice. I rang them back (during business hours as suggested) and they have seated my DH near us. Apparently they (qantas) cannot merge the PNRs but I was assured that they would take into account that his booking is linked to mine and will not shift his seat independently.

Should I go for Platinum again with Qantas?

I am WP and LTG. I've never had an op up and haven't ever done a status run. J class travel for work has kept me in WP for the last few years and probably will for a while longer. The only real advantages that I can see of WP over Gold are access to the first class (international) and...

Hi, I am wondering if anyone else has had the following happen or can offer any advice - I booked j class seats in the sale that ends today to LHR, returning through dubai. Booking confirmed, paid for and tickets issued for me, husband and daughter. I am WP, husband and daughter QFF silver...

Travelling with a baby in Business Class

I don't mind if a child or baby is crying - the only time I had a problem with a baby flying in J was when the father was very inconsiderate. I was in 12K, mum and bub in 11 JK and father in 12 J. Father was so hyped that he was constantly (all night!) jumping (literally) up and down, dancing...
