Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport. Since I became Gold (through Ambassador), they have always given me a suite.

    Gold Coast Hotel Deals?

If it's the schoolies week, I'd avoid Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach completely. So, my choices would be: Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove (far enough from Surfers Paradise and I don't think it appeals to children anyway) Sheraton Mirage (sort of at a safe distance from Surfers Paradise) Palazzo...

My Recent BA World Traveller Plus Experience

Very interesting to read some poor experiences on WT+. I haven't had any cause to complain about WT+ services or the state of the aircraft yet. Maybe I have been lucky every time. But basically on BA WT+, what you get is economy class service with a bit better seat. That's all they are offering...

FA Unilaterally Downgrading PAX from J to Y on Trans Tasman (Jetconnect)

It's possible that they asked to be both seated in J at check-in and were told no, so decided to try on board (or they already knew the FA would be on board so decided to get her to do that).

Which airport best to transit: FRA, LHR or CDG

I can definitely say NOT CDG.

    Airbus - Scarebus: Ch 7

LOL @ "Scarebus" being referred to. The nickname is no big deal. Pilots love nicknaming aircraft with something silly. Even Airbus lovers call them Scarebus at times as a joke. You should hear the nicknames given to some other aircraft. They makes Scarebus sound quite tame. A kinder example...

Anyone had Panavax yet (H1N1) ?

I had the vaccine. I couldn't tell if I had any side effects or not, because I was tired from sleep deprivation, sore-muscled from carrying my luggages around, and had a bit of a cold anyway. Even if I did have some side effects, it couldn't have been bad because I was fine two days later.

    CBR hotel recommendations

Medina James Court, IMO, is better than Waldorf. Waldorf rooms tend to be pretty small, don't you think? Now that Crowne Plaza seems to be a bit too far off the OP's budget, I have just remembered that Marque isn't too horrific and I think within the OP's price range, although it's not...

Not happy at QANTAS So called customer service

I am curious as to what misinformation were you given by Qantas in relation to baby items? Was it different from what is said here Fly - Baggage - Carry-on Baggage - Country Specific ? I have never had any issue carrying medicines (creams and liquids) in addition to my 1 litre bag / 100 ml...

FA Unilaterally Downgrading PAX from J to Y on Trans Tasman (Jetconnect)

This would sound seriously unscientific (and it is indeed totally unscientific way of thining), but I too tend to believe the OP's story as my worst experience involving an FA on QF happened on trans-Tasman. I was fairly shocked at what happened (I shall not elaborate as it had been...

FA Unilaterally Downgrading PAX from J to Y on Trans Tasman (Jetconnect)

I would not accept $150 compensation, unless this is the same or larger than the economy class and business class fare difference, in which case I would. I have been given $100+ for breakdown in communication and all sorts of minor things for which I have not even asked for compensation - I was...

    TI that excludes medical?

I thought that EU citizenship did not automatically confer the rights to free medical treatments in many EU countries, maybe except for emergency treatments? I thought it was ordinary residence rather than citizenship that determined the entitlements under reciprocal EU deals? In any case, you...

    CBR hotel recommendations

Crowne Plaza can be reasonably cheap (approx $200) and is quite central. You can walk to shops and the Civic very, very easily. It's modern, and I found the staff to be pretty good. Hyatt is nice but you can't really walk anywhere quite so easily. Cab fares to the city centre from the airport...

CCR is not invitation only though. You get automatic access if you are flying BA F.

FA Unilaterally Downgrading PAX from J to Y on Trans Tasman (Jetconnect)

This is a shocking story. They should have downgraded the separated J pax to Y and upgraded the Y pax next to their other half to J, if anything. In fact, the couple should have been told that they should have booked themselves in the same class in the first place, or that they should have...

    Qantas arrrrgh...

While I agree with your points, I frequently make separate bookings not to save money but to save the hassle of having to call the airline to make mixed class bookings etc as well as weird routes. It's far easier for me to do a DIY but end up with separate bookings than to phone airlines to...

Fly QF to London in J seats at PE price

QF 30 last week had Y pax in PE, PE pax in J, and J pax in F (and maybe some J pax in J as well). I am not sure when this is ending. Does anyone know when the 'No F' arrangement will end?

EU to end airline ban on liquids in carry-ons

At one point, they were supposed to be easing the ban in June this year. Now I read 2012. Hmmm, will it ever happen?

Jobs that have the highest call for travel...

Knowing some of the hotels some of them end up having to stay at, I really sympathise with them, even though they're free.
