    QF Sale end date

The fare expires on 8OCT (11.59pm). Crazy that QF, who is the one who sets the fare rules, can’t tell you that information! What I would suggest is going to an agent and asking them to hold the seats for you on the dates you want and then issue the tickets when you are ready to pay. That way...

Currency Conversion for US$100 FHR/HC Property Credit

It is up to the individual hotel as to what they convert it at. Some only decide annually what it will convert to, so swings either way with the exchange rate will then cause it to be different to the spot rate of the day. Unfortunately no one consistent answer!

Somethings Coming, and it's increased carrier charges

Brilliant - thank you. Fiji and J to HK are the standouts, in a bad way. Appreciate you posting that comparison.

Somethings Coming, and it's increased carrier charges

Has anyone done the side by side comparison of VA carrier charges versus QF?

Tempo Holidays and Bentours in administration since 19 Sept - I had a booking :(

Indeed a good travel agent would know what to do here. There has been a lot of helpful information passed out to the industry post the collapse and agents are well placed to best help their clients navigate the solutions. That is part of what the agent is there to do - help their clients when...

    IHG One Rewards Discussion

Had a recent stay at the Intercontinental Wellington. Nice enough hotel, but they just kept confusing things with what room category was what. At check in the offer an upgrade for $50 a night to a Club Room. I asked - is that the next category up from the room I’ve booked, to which they replied...

Qantas cancelled my booking, no notice, no refund made

Incredible they made you pay for it and then you have to wait for them to process a refund! Their error, they should fix it and work out their own internal accounting without bothering the passenger who has already been inconvenienced. Where's the customer orientation in that?!

Is it too risky to cancel a OWA sector and rebook same flight as part of a multi-sector without losing the seats?

Excellent outcome! It is frustrating that airlines don't do what they should the first time around, but glad you got to the right place in the end.

Is it too risky to cancel a OWA sector and rebook same flight as part of a multi-sector without losing the seats?

If this were a revenue ticket, it is quite easy to do and you don’t need to give up the KUL-ADL seats in order to add in the ADL-MEL flight. As long as the fare routings allowed you to route via ADL, then you’d just add the segment, calculate the fare/tax difference and reissue. Points seats...

When does Hyatt charge pre-paid rates

I've noticed this happening in recent months, across most hotels. Previously, a prepaid rate was charged at time of booking, but lately, it hasn't been charged til check out. The reason some of the hotels have given us is that they can't charge the card provided through the reservation system...

Can Qantas get extra AA awards when a Qantas change breaks the connection?

I would be with serfy on this one. Once it is ticketed, it becomes just like a revenue ticket and the standard Schedule Change Policy applies, which means you pick the most suitable comparable flight and they just reissue to that. They’re just trying to avoid doing that. You don’t need to find a...

Qantas points deduction timeframe - call centre award flight adjustment

I’ve been waiting almost a month for a refund of points after we changed a return award booking to a one way. Three follow ups and still being processed. Seems to be that there are too many people involved and it gets caught up along the way and no one has the ability to just get it done.

Anyone had any experience with Bookings with Auntybetty?

The process that MH directs you back to Aunt Betty is correct for something like this. Seating, meal requests, passport information etc can be managed with the airline direct, but when it comes to anything schedule or change related, you’ll 99% of the time be directed back to the booking agent...

Amex FX International Payments rewards for Business Card holders

Well, that was interesting to see. I’d come from Amex years ago and the rates were terrible - made OFX look amazing. Then OFX got average, but still better then Amex and we went to Cambridge. Wondering if I was in a different part of Amex? They weren’t even close to OFX back then. Maybe time to...

Amex FX International Payments rewards for Business Card holders

If you’re doing those sorts of numbers, you would save a good amount by moving to OFX or Cambridge or someone like that. They will have significantly better rates, worth a lot more to you than the Rewards Points. But in the meantime, definitely claim the extra points - you’ve earned/paid for them!

Is booking rewards flights always this difficult?

I unknowingly ended up with 9 separate PNRs that were active for a straightforward Rome to London classic awards seat on BA this week. Each time it got to the payment page it would give an error, but in the background it was creating a PNR, just not processing payment. QF initially said it must...

Qantas denies double points due to definition of "booking"

The price and conditions are connected to the date the segments are created, not the date the PNR is created.

Qantas denies double points due to definition of "booking"

So what if you “book” it in the DSC window and then issue the ticket outside the DSC window. The consensus in this thread has been that the definition of booking is PNR creation, so if that logic carries through, there should be no reason why you can’t issue the ticket outside the DSC period and...

Qantas denies double points due to definition of "booking"

There is nothing stopping me creating a PNR in January and then adding a flight reservation into that same PNR in October, 10 months later. So the PNR creation date is not necessarily the booking date. The confusion here is that QF Frequent Flyer are calling it a booking date, which isn’t a...

Email QFF Subscriptions - which ones, and why?

This is rather interesting, particularly given the upcoming changes in how QF will be presenting fares. What this is possibly suggesting is that as a P1, they may think they’ve got you, so you’re not going to be targeted with offers compared to someone else. When the distribution changes come...
