Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

This is not uncommon. When you select seats and progress through to the payment page, the system takes the seats out of inventory and "holds" them pending completion of the booking. If you don't complete the payment the seats can be held for quite some time on occasions. I recently had this...

China - never a dull moment!

OK thanks; misread the Cruiser's post and thought it was referring the RoHS rather than the CCC. My bad.

China - never a dull moment!

Just checked the one I picked up in France last year and it does have "RoHS" on it (but doesn't include the word "compliant"). Can only hope they will accept that.

A question regarding access to the Centurion Lounge for children: if my son has a lounge pass for the Centurion Lounge (from his Amex Ultimate card) how many children can he take in with him. The website says: All other eligible Card Members as outlined below are entitled to a total of two...

Yes the 10k per month at full earn will be a deal breaker for many. Earn rate dependent on retailer: 3 points/$ for overseas spend (up from 1.5 points?) but the 3% o/s transaction fee makes this a no-go for me 2 points/$ on: Most major Australian supermarkets, department stores, petrol...

    Scams like these

Certainly can: a few years ago my preferred debit card for overseas spend got cleaned out. The only place I had used it in the previous 12+ months was to purchase flights online with Aegean Airlines.

    Service flow on airlines

Some years ago I flew BKK to AMM on RJ. The flight departed at midnight. Once airbourne and starting the cruise, the crew turned off the lights and most passengers settled down to sleep. About an hour later (0130) the lights came back on and they served a three course meal! WTF?

QF have changed my flight to MEL to QF1299. Gem56 will be in MEL a week earlier but leaving on the same flight (QF466). Any ideas yet on where the activities will be centered? Looking to lock in some accommodation soon.

The American Express Velocity Platinum Card Insurance does not have a benefit for Loss Damage Waiver Cover.

Need to read the T & C's. Lots of Travel Insurance policies (both CC and paid) exclude tyres, windscreens, etc. I once found a policy that excluded damage to the roof if driving a campervan or motorhome. It's a pain reading through 100's of pages in the product description but necessary in my...

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

That's interesting. We have solar & battery, no EV. So far seems to be working in our favour although we do aggressively manually control when we buy and sell, especially during price spikes. It will be interesting to see what our first bill looks like.

We changed to Amber a couple of months ago. With Amber you buy and sell at wholesale prices. (You still have the access charges plus $22 per month to Amber.) It's rained here in CFS for most of the past 5 weeks and our daily usage has been less than $2 either way. FInally the rain has stopped...

Pros and cons of rental versus short term lease Netherlands

We leased a car in Framce for 6 months from Citroën and were very happy with how it all went. However, as you have found out, to pick up a leased car outside France costs extra. (And Citroën don't hàve a pick up option in Amsterdam.) In your case I would hire a car and make sure my travel...
